Firmware Version 3.30

Note: When updating firmware, the network/USB setting for CONNECTION MODE will reset to default if FIXED WIRELESS CONNECTION "TETHERING" was selected. Please reconfigure settings according to your connected device.

Changes and Additions
Smartphone Connection
Firmware Ver. 3.30
Pair your camera with your smartphone and connect via Bluetooth®.
- Press the Bluetooth ? button when the camera is in shooting mode.
You can also go directly to step 3 by holding the button during playback.
- Select Bluetooth and press MENU/OK.

- Select PAIRING and press MENU/OK.

- Launch the smartphone app and pair it with the camera so that a code is displayed on both the smartphone and camera screens. Ensure the codes match to complete pairing.
When the connection is established, a smartphone icon and a white Bluetooth icon will appear on the camera display.
- After pairing, the smartphone will automatically connect to the camera when the app is launched.
- Disconnecting Bluetooth when the camera is not connected to a smartphone can help reduce battery consumption.
FOCUS RING OPERATION (Lens Setting)
Firmware Ver. 3.20
Adjust focus shift settings when using the focus ring during photography.
NON-LINEAR
Focusing is adjusted at the same speed as the ring rotation.
LINEAR
Focusing is adjusted linearly according to the rotation of the ring. The rotation angle of the focus ring can also be set for focusing between the minimum focus distance and infinity.

FOCUS RING OPERATION (Video Recording)

FILM SIMULATION

This function simulates the effects of various types of film, including black and white (with or without color filters). Choose a palette that suits your subject and creative intent.

Camera Indicator Signals
The camera indicator shows the connection status with Frame.io, etc.

Uploading Files to Frame.io
Upload files to Frame.io.
Before proceeding, ensure the camera's date and time are set correctly.
Wireless LAN Connection
Connect to Frame.io via wireless LAN.
- Select NETWORK SETTING in the network/USB settings menu.
- Select CREATE NEW. You can also select or edit an existing network.

- Select ACCESS POINT SETTING. Select IP ADDRESS SETTING to manually set the IP address, as described in the "Connecting via IP Address" section (Page 11).
- Select SIMPLE SETUP. To select a wireless router or manually enter the router SSID, select MANUAL SETUP.

- Follow the on-screen instructions to prepare your wireless LAN router. Connection can also be made using a PIN code. Display the camera's PIN code by pressing the focus ring (focus ring knob) upwards, and enter this PIN code into the wireless LAN router.
- Press MENU/OK when the setup is complete.

- Select Frame.io Camera to Cloud > CONNECT in the network/USB settings menu.
- After connecting, select GET PAIRING CODE. The pairing code will be displayed.

Connecting via IP Address
Connect to Frame.io using a manually created network/USB profile that includes the IP address and other network settings.
- Select MANUAL. Select AUTOMATIC to automatically assign an IP address to the camera.

- Enter the IP address.
- Select IP ADDRESS and enter the IP address.
- Select SUBNET MASK and enter the subnet mask.
- Select GATEWAY ADDRESS and enter the corresponding address.
- Select DNS SERVER ADDRESS and enter its address.

Connection Status
The connection status with Frame.io is indicated by an icon on the electronic viewfinder or LCD screen.

Uploading Objects to Frame.io
Upload selected objects using "Frame.io Camera to Cloud"
- Select Frame.io Camera to Cloud in the network/USB settings menu.
- Select UPLOAD SETTINGS > SELECT IMAGE AND TRANSFER.

- The NETWORK and Frame.io fields show the connection status to Frame.io.
- The PROJECT and USER fields show information transferred to Frame.io from a computer or other device. Note that some characters may not display correctly and will be replaced by a question mark (“?”).
- Mark objects for upload. Select photos and videos and press MENU/OK to mark them for upload.
- To display only files that match the selected criteria, press the DISP/BACK button before marking.
- To select all objects, press the Q button.
- When selecting any two objects using the AEL button, all objects between them will also be selected.

- Press DISP/BACK and select START TRANSFER. Selected objects will be uploaded to Frame.io.
File Filtering
To display only files that match the selected criteria, press DISP/BACK in the selection dialog and select FILTER.

- Selecting FILTER removes all existing upload marks.
- Image transfer commands can contain a maximum of 9999 objects.
- If ON is selected for Frame.io Camera to Cloud > TRANSFER IMAGE WHEN POWER IS OFF, uploads to Frame.io will continue even when the camera is turned off.
Uploading Photos and Videos as They Are Taken
Photos and videos taken with ON selected for Frame.io Camera to Cloud > UPLOAD SETTINGS > AUTO IMAGE TRANSFER COMMAND in the network/USB settings menu will be marked for automatic upload.
Frame.io Camera to Cloud

Adjust settings for using Frame.io.
CONNECT
You can connect to a Frame.io project via wireless LAN. If you have not yet registered a network, register it first in the NETWORK SETTING parameter.
DISCONNECT
Disconnect from the Frame.io project and terminate the network connection.
GET PAIRING CODE
A pairing code for connecting to a Frame.io project will be displayed. Enter this code on the Frame.io website, accessible from your computer or tablet, to connect Frame.io and the camera.
SELECT FILE TYPE
Select the file types to be uploaded to Frame.io. You can select or deselect each file type individually.

FIRMWARE UPDATE

Use the firmware stored on the memory card to update the firmware of cameras, lenses, and other accessories.
Firmware Updates

If the firmware version has been updated, functions have been added or changed, update the firmware.
After updating the firmware to the latest version, camera functions may differ slightly from those described in this manual.
Firmware Download
First, download the latest firmware version and save it to a memory card. For download instructions, see the following website.

Updating Firmware
Firmware can be updated using the following methods.
Updating Firmware When the Camera is Turned On
Insert a memory card with the new firmware into the camera. Hold down the DISP/BACK button and turn on the camera. The firmware will be updated. After the firmware update is complete, turn off the camera.
Updating Firmware from the Settings Menu
Insert a memory card with the new firmware into the camera. Select USER SETTING > FIRMWARE UPDATE to update the firmware.
Updating Firmware Using the Smartphone App (Manual Update)
If you are using the smartphone app, you can update the firmware from the app. More detailed information can be found on the following website.
Updating Firmware Using the Smartphone App (Automatic Update)
If you are using FUJIFILM XApp version 2.0.0 or later, the latest firmware version will be automatically downloaded to the camera from your smartphone.
- When using the camera, a confirmation screen for the firmware update readiness will appear. Select YES.

If you select CANCEL, the confirmation screen will reappear the next day or later when the camera is turned on.
- When the selection screen appears, select UPDATE NOW.

- Select REMIND ME LATER to display the confirmation screen again after 3 days.
- Select TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS to prevent the confirmation screen from appearing.
- Select YES.
- Update the firmware by following the on-screen instructions.
- When the firmware update completion screen appears, turn off the camera.
- When updating firmware, use a battery with sufficient charge. Do not turn off the camera or perform any operations during the update. If the camera is turned off during the firmware update, it may stop functioning normally.
- Nothing is displayed on the electronic viewfinder during the firmware update. Use the LCD monitor.
- The time required for the firmware update depends on its size. The maximum time is approximately 10 minutes.
- After updating the firmware, it is not possible to revert to a previous version.

Checking Firmware Version
To view version information, turn on the camera while holding down the DISP/BACK button.
- The camera will display the firmware version only if a memory card is inserted.
- To view firmware versions or update firmware for accessories such as interchangeable lenses, hot-shoe flashes, and mount adapters, attach the accessories to the camera.
