SHARP SPC483 / SPC222 LCD Digital Alarm Clock
Thank you for your purchase of this quality clock. The utmost care has gone into the design and manufacture of your clock. Please read these instructions and store them in a safe place for future reference.
Controls
The clock features a digital display and several control buttons:
- 1. ALARM INDICATOR: A light that illuminates when the alarm is active.
- 2. SNOOZE INDICATOR: A light that illuminates when the snooze function is active.
- 3. BATTERY DOOR: Located on the back for battery access.
- 4. ALARM BUTTON: Used for setting and adjusting the alarm time.
- 5. TIME BUTTON: Used for setting and adjusting the current time.
- 6. SNOOZE/BACKLIGHT BUTTON: Activates snooze when the alarm sounds or illuminates the display backlight.
- 7. HOUR BUTTON: Advances the hour setting for time or alarm.
- 8. MINUTE BUTTON: Advances the minute setting for time or alarm.
- 9. ALARM ON/OFF BUTTON: Switches the alarm function on or off.
The main display shows the current time, which was set to 12:08 in the diagram.
Power Supply
This clock operates on two “AAA” batteries (not included). To install batteries:
- Remove the BATTERY DOOR.
- Insert two new “AAA” batteries, observing the polarity symbols (+/-).
- Ensure batteries are new and inserted correctly.
Important:
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries.
To Set The Time
- Press and hold the TIME button to activate time setting mode.
- While holding the TIME button, press the HOUR button to advance to the correct hour. The PM indicator ? will light when the hour is advanced into the PM time.
- While holding the TIME button, press the MINUTE button to advance to the correct minute.
- Release the TIME button when the correct time is displayed.
To Setting The Alarm
- Press and hold the ALARM button to activate alarm setting mode.
- While holding the ALARM button, press the HOUR button to advance to the correct hour. The PM indicator ? will light when the hour is advanced into the PM time.
- While holding the ALARM button, press the MINUTE button to advance to the correct minute.
- Release the ALARM button when the correct alarm time is displayed.
Using The Alarm
- To activate the alarm, slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The alarm indicator ? will be lit.
- To deactivate the alarm, slide the ALARM ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. The alarm indicator ? will no longer be visible.
To Use The Snooze Feature
When the wake-up alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button. The alarm will stop and sound again in five minutes. This cycle repeats each time the SNOOZE/LIGHT button is pressed. The snooze indicator ? will flash to confirm snooze function is activated.
To Use The Backlight Feature
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to illuminate the display backlight for five seconds, aiding night viewing.
Care For Your Clock
Batteries should be replaced if the display or alarm becomes weak or dysfunctional. Store the clock without batteries when not in use. Clean your clock with a soft cloth or paper towel. Do not use any corrosive cleaner or chemical solution. Keep the clock clean and dry.
Battery Warning
- Clean battery contacts and device contacts before installation.
- Follow polarity (+/-) for battery placement.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix Alkaline, Standard (Carbon-Zinc), or Rechargeable (Nickel-Cadmium) batteries.
- Incorrect battery placement can damage the clock movement and may cause battery leakage.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the product.
- Remove batteries from equipment not used for extended periods.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire, as they may explode or leak.
