Assembly & Installation Instructions
- Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and verify all parts and accessories are present as illustrated.
- Turn off power: Before starting, ensure electricity is shut off at the main fuse/breaker and wall switch.
- Unscrew studs (E) from canopy (F) and remove mounting plate (A).
- Attach mounting plate (A) to the outlet box using mounting screws (D). The diagram shows the mounting plate being secured to an electrical outlet box.
- Make wire connections: Connect wires as shown. IMPORTANT: The ground wire is bare copper; do not connect other wires to it.
Ground Wire Connections:
- Connect the fixture's ground wire to the outlet box's ground wire using the green ground screw. This is shown in diagram A, illustrating a connection with a dimple and cupped washer. Diagram B shows an alternative connection for fixture ground to outlet box ground, also using a green ground screw.
Main Wire Connections:
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Black (*Parallel cord: round & smooth; Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without tracer; Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor) White (*Parallel cord: square & ridged; Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with tracer; Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor) Note: For parallel wires (SPT-I & SPT-II), the neutral wire is square or ridged, and the other wire is round or smooth.
- Twist wires together with plastic wire connectors until tightly joined.
- Wrap each connector with approved electrical tape.
- Ensure no wire strands are exposed and carefully tuck all wires into the outlet box.
