2. Is there a weight limit for PuraMax 2?
Yes, PETKIT recommends a minimum weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) and a maximum weight of 10 kg (22 lbs) for using the PuraMax 2.
3. Can kittens use PuraMax 2?
PETKIT does not recommend using the PuraMax 2 for kittens or cats weighing less than 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). If you have both young and adult cats, it is suggested to enable the Kitten Protection Mode via the PETKIT app. This mode disables auto cleaning and periodic cleaning to ensure your kitten's safety.
4. How frequently should I empty the waste container?
Based on PETKIT's lab results, the PuraMax 2's 7L waste bin supports up to 15 days of free-scooping for a single-cat household. However, in hot or humid conditions, the packing frequency may vary. You can adjust the waste management cycle as needed.
5. Where should I place PuraMax 2 litter box?
For accurate weight measurements, the PuraMax 2 should be placed on a hard, level surface. Maintain a distance of at least 5 cm (1.97 inches) from walls and ensure that no objects obstruct the entrance.
6. How can I prevent the fecal streaking on the cylinder?
Fecal streaking may occur if your cats do not always cover their poops or have soft or watery stools. PETKIT recommends using fast, tight-clumping cat litter instead of slow-clumping litter. You can also enable Waste Covering Mode in the scooping setup via the PETKIT app, which helps evenly cover waste in cat litter before the cleaning cycle to minimize fecal streaking.
7. PURA MAX 2 does not clean up after cat use
If the PuraMax 2 is not cleaning up after cat use, please check the following:
- Ensure auto-clean is turned on in the PETKIT app and that your cat weighs over 3.5 lbs.
- Double-click the OK button to calibrate the device after adding cat litter to the max line.
- Verify that the firmware version has been upgraded to the latest version.
- Ensure the device is not placed on a mat or carpet. Keep the device at least 10 cm away from walls and wipe the sensors on the entrance door.
- If the problem persists, please take photos showing how and where you placed the device and contact PETKIT customer service.
8. Maintenance mode of PURA Max 2
In maintenance mode, the device's door will go up and stop. This mode allows you to clean the device, dump the litter from the box, or add an appropriate amount of cat litter. After 15 minutes, the device will automatically exit maintenance mode, or you can exit manually.
9. About urine leakage
Urine leakage from the PuraMax 2 can be affected by various factors. PETKIT offers the following solutions:
- Use cat litter with good clumping properties so that the cat litter clumps quickly.
- Set a slightly longer waiting time for cleaning to allow the cat litter to clump better together.
- Observe your cat's usage habits and check if the cat tends to urinate at the edge of the gap, which can cause leakage.
- Check if the inner mat is broken or if there is a gap between the inner mat and the cylinder. PETKIT suggests adding less litter and taping any gap between the inner mat and cylinder with tape.
10. What kind of cat litter is suitable for Pura Max?
PETKIT recommends using clumping litters with a measurement of 3*13mm (3mm diameter, 13mm length). Compatible types of clumping litter include clay litter, tofu litter, and mixed litter.
