Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Geforce RTX 4090 Aorus Master - Gaming with Backplate
Compatibility and Preparation
Before commencing cooler assembly, compare your graphics card with the visual references provided in the Alphacool configurator. Visit https://www.hwconfig.com and search for your specific graphics card or cooler model. For precise identification, cross-reference the PCB number. This cooler is engineered for a particular PCB layout. Be aware that graphics card manufacturers may occasionally revise their card designs, potentially affecting cooler compatibility with later revisions. During assembly, ensure that taller components have adequate clearance and that the cooler does not cause any damage to the graphics card.
Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for assembly errors resulting from negligence, such as the selection of an incompatible cooler.
Preparing the Graphics Card: Place the hardware on an antistatic mat. Begin the disassembly of the original cooler. Depending on the original cooler's design, first remove the fan screws and carefully detach the fan connector. If the original cooler utilizes thermal glue, exercise extreme caution to avoid damaging components. Carefully collect all removed parts. Subsequently, clean the graphics card hardware of any thermal paste or pad residues using a suitable solvent, such as isopropanol alcohol.

Installation Steps
Step 1: Place Thermal Pads on Cooling Block
Carefully position the thermal pads (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) onto the designated contact surfaces of the water cooling block, as indicated in the diagrams.
Step 2: Apply Thermal Grease
Apply a small, even amount of thermal grease (H) to the center of the GPU die on the graphics card. Refer to the diagram for proper application.
Step 3: Install PCB
Align the water block with the graphics card PCB. Secure the water block using the provided screws (K) and EVA washers (J) in the designated mounting points. Ensure even tightening.
Step 4: Place Thermal Pads on PCB Backside
Apply the larger thermal pads (L, M, N, O) to the specific locations on the backside of the graphics card PCB, as shown in the diagrams, to aid in heat dissipation.
Step 5: Mount Backplate
Attach the provided backplate to the rear of the graphics card using the screws (P). This adds structural rigidity and aids in cooling.
Step 6: Connect ARGB Lighting
Connect the ARGB lighting cable (Q) from the water block to the appropriate ARGB header on your motherboard or a compatible ARGB controller.
Step 7: Secure Components
Use the provided plug tool (S) to screw in the G1/4 plugs (R) into the designated ports on the water block.
