Compatibility Check
Before starting the cooler assembly, compare your graphics card with the images provided in the Alphacool configurator. Visit https://www.hwconfig.com and search for your specific graphics card or cooler model. For definitive identification, compare the PCB number. Note that graphics card manufacturers may revise designs, potentially affecting cooler fitment on later models. Ensure taller components on the card have adequate clearance and that the cooler does not damage the graphics card during assembly.
[Warning] Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for assembly errors due to negligence, such as selecting an incompatible cooler.

Prepare Graphics Card
Place the hardware on an antistatic mat. Begin dismantling the original cooler. Depending on the cooler's structure, remove screws and carefully unhook the fan connector first. If the original cooler uses thermal glue, exercise extreme care to avoid damaging components. Collect all removed parts carefully. Clean the hardware of any thermal paste or pad residues using a solvent, such as isopropyl alcohol.
Assembly Steps
Step 1: Place Thermal Pads on Cooling Block
Place the thermal pads onto the cooling block according to the diagram. The pads are labeled A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the Alphacool GPU water block. Various rectangular thermal pads (labeled A through H) are shown being placed onto specific locations on the block's surface, corresponding to VRMs, memory chips, and other components.
Step 2: Apply Thermal Grease
Apply the included thermal grease (K) to the GPU die using the provided putty tool (M) or a suitable applicator. The diagram shows applying a small amount of grease to the center of the GPU chip.
Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the application of thermal grease (K) onto the GPU die using a tool (L). A small, even layer of grease is applied to the center of the GPU chip.
Step 3: Install PCB
Carefully align the water block with the graphics card PCB. Secure the block using the provided screws (N) and washers (O). The diagram indicates four mounting points (1, 2, 3, 4) on the PCB for screw installation.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the graphics card PCB with the water block positioned over it. Screws (N) and washers (O) are shown being inserted through the water block mounting holes into the PCB at four designated points (1, 2, 3, 4).
Step 4: Install PCB and PCI Bracket
Attach the PCI bracket (P) to the graphics card assembly. Use screws (M) and the bracket (P) as shown in the diagram.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the graphics card with the water block installed. A PCI bracket (P) is being attached to the rear I/O area of the card using screws (M).
Step 5: Place Thermal Pads on PCB Backside
Apply the thermal pads (F, J, H) to the designated areas on the back of the graphics card PCB. These pads are typically for voltage regulation modules (VRMs) or memory chips on the rear side.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the back of the graphics card PCB. Thermal pads (F, J, H) are being placed onto specific locations on the rear side of the PCB.
Step 6: Mount Backplate
Attach the backplate (Q) to the rear of the graphics card assembly. The diagram shows the backplate being secured.
Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the mounting of the backplate (Q) onto the rear of the graphics card, likely using screws or clips.
Step 7: Connect ARGB Lighting
Connect the ARGB lighting cable (S) to the appropriate header on the motherboard or a compatible ARGB controller. The diagram shows the connection to a "Mainboard ARGB Header" or "Aurora Eiscontrol".
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the ARGB cable (S) with its connector. It illustrates connecting this cable to either a standard motherboard ARGB header or a dedicated Alphacool ARGB controller ("Aurora Eiscontrol").
Step 8: Screw in Screw Plugs
Use the plug tool (T) to screw in the G1/4" plugs (U) into the designated ports on the water block. Ensure they are securely tightened.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows the plug tool (T) being used to screw in the G1/4" plugs (U) into the ports of the water block.
