Installation
⚠️WARNING! Risk of injury caused by falling objects: Devices in overhead installations can cause severe injury if they fall. Ensure secure installation by a qualified specialist familiar with hazards and regulations.
The device can be placed on the floor or fastened to a truss or similar rigging structure. It must never be fixed swinging freely.
- The rigging structure must support at least 10 times the weight of all fixtures.
- Block access below the work area and use a stable platform for installation.
- Use rigging hardware compatible with the structure and capable of bearing the device's weight. Refer to the 'Accessories' section for suitable hardware.
- Secure the device with a secondary attachment (e.g., safety bond or net). This attachment must be sufficiently dimensioned according to safety regulations and ensure no part falls if the main attachment fails. Use the provided eyelets for the safety bond, ensuring a maximum drop distance of 20 cm.
- To align the device, release the fixation screws on the mounting bracket, adjust the desired inclination angle, and tighten the screws.
- After installation, periodically inspect the device to prevent corrosion, deformation, and looseness.
DMX512 Connection
A DMX512 data link is required for DMX control. The device uses 3-pin XLR connectors.
- Connect your DMX controller's output to the device's DMX input (DMX IN) using a DMX cable.
- Connect the DMX output (DMX OUT) of one device to the DMX input of the next unit in the chain.
- At the last unit, terminate the DMX cable with a 120 Ω resistor between Signal (-) and Signal (+) in the DMX output.
- If cable length exceeds 300 m or more than 32 devices are connected, use a DMX level amplifier for proper data transmission.
XLR Connections:
- DMX Output (XLR socket): 1: Ground, 2: Signal (-), 3: Signal (+)
- DMX Input (XLR plug): 1: Ground, 2: Signal (-), 3: Signal (+)
Wireless DMX Transmission with QuickDMX
The device offers an alternative DMX input for a QuickDMX receiver (sold separately). CRMX and WDMX receivers are also compatible. This USB port transmits DMX control signals wirelessly, eliminating complex wiring. The USB port also provides the required 5V operating voltage for the receiver.
USB Port Pinout: +5V, D-, D+, GND.
Power Supply
The device uses an auto-range power supply accepting 100-240V AC.
- Connect the device via the mains cable to a grounded mains socket to switch it on.
- Disconnect the power plug to switch off.
- Do not connect via a dimmer. Use a switchable mains outlet for convenience.
- The POWER OUT jack allows powering other devices. To interconnect units, connect POWER OUT to the POWER IN of the next unit. Up to 8 devices can be linked at 230/240V, and up to 4 devices at 110/115V.
Operation
After connecting to mains power, the device is ready. The display shows the last operating mode. Modes can be selected via the display and control buttons. Settings are retained when disconnected from power.
The device can be operated in stand-alone mode via the control panel or in DMX-controlled mode via a DMX controller or wirelessly via QuickDMX.
