The device can be placed on the floor or fastened to a truss or similar rigging structure. It must never be fixed swinging freely.
- The rigging structure must support at least 10 times the weight of all fixtures to be installed.
- Block access below the work area and work from a stable platform during installation.
- Use rigging hardware compatible with the structure and capable of bearing the device's weight. Refer to the "Accessories" section for suitable hardware.
- Secure the device with a safety bond or other secondary attachment. This attachment must be sufficiently dimensioned according to industrial safety regulations and constructed so that no part of the installation can fall if the main attachment fails. Attach the safety bond through the safety eyelet, ensuring a maximum drop distance of 20 cm in case of a fall.
- To align the device, release the fixation screws at the mounting bracket, adjust the desired inclination angle, and retighten the screws.
- After installation, the device requires periodic inspections to prevent corrosion, deformation, and looseness.
Connections
DMX512 Control
A DMX512 data link is required for DMX control. The device has 3-pin XLR connectors.
- Connect the output of your DMX controller to the DMX input (DMX IN) of the device using a DMX cable.
- Connect the DMX output (DMX OUT) of one device to the DMX input of the next unit in the chain. Always connect one output to the input of the next unit until all units are connected.
- At the last unit, the DMX cable must be terminated. Use an XLR plug with a 120 Ω resistor soldered between Signal (-) and Signal (+) in the DMX output.
- If the cable length exceeds 300 m or more than 32 DMX devices are connected, a DMX signal amplifier is recommended for reliable data transmission.
XLR Connection:
- DMX-output (XLR mounting-socket): Pin 1: Ground, Pin 2: Signal (-), Pin 3: Signal (+)
- DMX-input (XLR mounting-plug): Pin 1: Ground, Pin 2: Signal (-), Pin 3: Signal (+)
Wireless DMX Transmission
The device features an alternative DMX input for a QuickDMX receiver (sold separately). CRMX and WDMX receivers are also compatible. This allows DMX control signals to be transmitted wirelessly, eliminating complex wiring. The connector is a USB port providing 5 V operating voltage for the receiver.
Occupation of the USB port:
- +5V
- D-
- D+
- GND
Connection to the Mains
The device uses an auto-range power supply accepting input voltages between 100 and 240 volts.
- Connect the device via the mains cable to a grounded mains socket. The unit is now switched on.
- To switch off, disconnect the power plug.
- Do not connect to mains voltage via a dimmer. For convenience, use a switchable mains outlet.
- The POWER OUT jack allows for powering additional devices. To interconnect multiple devices, connect the POWER OUT jack of one unit to the POWER IN jack of the next. Matching power cables with P-Con plugs are available as accessories. Up to 8 devices can be linked at 230/240 V input voltage, and up to 4 devices at 110/115 V input voltage.
Operation
The built-in control panel has four operating buttons and a display showing operational statuses. After connecting to mains, a short initialization occurs. The display briefly shows the firmware version, then the last operating mode. Settings are stored even when disconnected from mains. The device can be operated in stand-alone mode via the control panel or in DMX-controlled mode via a DMX controller. Wireless DMX is also possible with a suitable receiver. Operating modes can be selected manually.
Turn the objective lens to adjust focus for a sharp projection.
