Important Safety Information

⚠️ WARNING! Furniture tip-over can cause serious or fatal crushing injuries. To prevent tip-over, this furniture MUST be used with the wall attachment device(s) provided.

Note: Screws and wall plugs for the wall are not included. Use screws and plugs suitable for your walls. If you are uncertain, seek professional advice. Read and follow each step of the instructions carefully.

Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your KALLAX shelving unit. Ensure you have all parts before beginning.

Step 1: Assemble the Frame

Attach the side panels to the base panel. Use 2x screws (104321) for each connection point between the side panels and the base panel.

Step 2: Insert Internal Dividers

Insert the first internal divider into the pre-drilled slots. Secure it by inserting 2x dowels (101339) into each side of the divider, connecting it to the base and side panels.

Step 3: Add More Dividers

Insert the second internal divider into its designated slots. Secure with 2x dowels (101339) on each side.

Step 4: Secure Dividers

Use 2x screws (101339) per divider to secure them to the side panels.

Step 5: Insert Remaining Dividers

Insert the remaining internal dividers into their respective slots.

Step 6: Secure Remaining Dividers

Secure these dividers with 2x screws (101339) each.

Step 7: Attach Side Panels

Attach the remaining side panels to the base and the internal dividers. Use 2x screws (101339) for each connection point.

Step 8: Attach Top Panel

Place the top panel onto the assembled structure. Secure it using 6x screws (104321/104322) in total, distributed across the connection points with the side panels.

Step 9: Attach Wall Anchoring Hardware to Unit

Attach the two wall attachment brackets (115753) to the top rear edge of the unit. Use 2x screws (100372) for each bracket.

Step 10: Secure Unit to Wall

Position the assembled unit against the wall where you intend to place it. Mark the wall through the holes in the wall attachment brackets. Drill holes at the marked locations and insert appropriate wall plugs (not included). Secure the unit to the wall by driving suitable screws (not included) through the brackets into the wall plugs.

The unit may also include a wall attachment strip (103693) for securing to the wall. Follow the specific diagrams for its installation and connection to the unit.

Optional Corner Pieces

Optional corner pieces (4 types, 2 of each: Parts 115754, 118673, 118225, 119509) can be attached if desired, following their specific diagrams.
