METOD Base Cabinet Assembly Instructions

Screw(s) and plug(s) for the wall are not included. Use screw(s) and plug(s) suitable for your walls. If you are uncertain, seek professional advice. Read and follow each step of the instruction carefully.

Tools and Preparation
Before you begin assembly, ensure you have the necessary tools:
- Screwdrivers (various types)
- Hammer
- Clamp
Preparation Checklist:
- ✔ Two people are recommended for assembly.
- ✖ Do not sit on the furniture during assembly.
- ✖ Do not lift the furniture by the top panel. Lift from the base.
- ✔ Ensure all parts are present and correctly identified before starting.
- ✔ If you have questions, contact IKEA customer support.

Identify all components before starting assembly:
- Cam bolts: 6x (Part number 112996)
- Cam locks: 6x (Part number 113434)
- Dowel pins: 6x (Part number 101351)
- Screws: 8x (Part number 10035574)
- Screws: 4x (Part number 10036383)
- Screws: 6x (Part number 108530)
- Screws: 2x (Part number 10039201)
- Nails: 1x bag (Part number 319503)
- Mounting plates: 2x (Part number 10049278)
- Wall brackets: 2x (Part number 10046940)
- Wall brackets: 2x (Part number 10039571)
- Brackets: 2x (Part number 124526)
- Brackets: 2x (Part number 124518)

- Cabinet side panels: 2x

Note: Specific dimensions for cabinet widths (30 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm, 80 cm) are indicated in the diagrams, with corresponding quantities of specific parts for each size.
Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare Panels
Insert 6x cam bolts (112996) and 6x cam locks (113434) into the pre-drilled holes on the cabinet panels as shown in the diagram.
Step 2: Assemble Cabinet Frame
Connect the two side panels to the base panel using 6x dowel pins (101351) and 6x screws (10035574). Ensure the panels are flush.
Step 3: Attach Back Panel
Slide the back panel into the grooves on the side and base panels. Secure the back panel using 6x cam locks (113434).
Step 4: Insert Back Panel
Ensure the back panel is fully seated in its grooves.
Step 5: Install Drawer Runners
Attach the drawer runners to the inside of the cabinet side panels. Listen for a "Click!" sound to confirm they are properly seated.
Step 6: Attach Top Panel
Place the top panel onto the assembled cabinet frame. Secure it using 4x screws (10036383).
Step 7: Secure Top Panel
Hammer 1x nail (319503) through the top panel into the side panel to reinforce the connection. Ensure a 90-degree angle for the nail.
Step 8: Secure Top Panel
Hammer another 1x nail (319503) through the top panel into the other side panel, maintaining a 90-degree angle.
Step 9: Secure Top Panel
Hammer a final 1x nail (319503) through the top panel into the back edge, maintaining a 90-degree angle.
Step 10: Attach Feet
Attach the cabinet feet or base supports using 2x screws (10039201).
Step 11: Install Internal Supports
Install internal support rails or brackets using 10x screws (part number not explicitly specified in steps, but visually similar to 10039201).
Step 12: Attach Wall Mounting Plates
Attach the wall mounting plates (2x part 10049278) to the back of the cabinet. Then, attach the corresponding wall brackets (2x part 10046940) to the wall rail system.
Step 13: Mount Cabinet to Wall Rail
First, ensure the wall rail is securely mounted to the wall (screws and plugs for wall mounting are not included and must be purchased separately based on your wall type). Then, lift the cabinet and hook it onto the wall rail. The METOD system allows for adjustable positioning.
Step 14: Attach Additional Wall Brackets
Attach additional wall brackets (2x part 10039571) to the cabinet as indicated.
Step 15: Secure Cabinet with Brackets
Secure the cabinet using the provided brackets (2x part 124518 and 2x part 124519).
Step 16: Final Wall Attachment
Attach the cabinet to the wall rail using the appropriate brackets. Use 2x brackets (124526) and 4x screws (10035574) for this step.
Step 17: Final Check
Perform a final check to ensure all connections are secure and the cabinet is properly attached to the wall. The diagram shows a final visual check of the wall attachment.
