I. Windows Plug-and-Play Installation

This section guides you through installing the EW-7822UN7 using Windows Plug-and-Play.

Steps:

1. Insert: Insert the EW-7822UN7 into your computer's USB port.
2. Plug-and-Play: The system will detect the device.
3. Connect: Connect to your Wi-Fi network.

I-1. Insert

Insert EW-7822UN7 into your computer.

⚠️ Before inserting the device into your computer, please disable all the existing Wi-Fi adapters. (Refer to FAQ -> Q2)

I-2. Plug-and-Play

1. The Wi-Fi icon ? will be displayed on the right-bottom Windows taskbar if Plug-and-Play is supported. (Refer to III. FAQ -> Q1)

⚠️ If your computer doesn't support Plug-and-Play for EW-7822UN7, please go to Section II-2: Built-in Driver Installation.

2. Click the Wi-Fi icon ? to connect to the Wi-Fi network. The icon might be different depending on your OS version.

I-3. Connect to the Wi-Fi Network

Select your Wi-Fi Network (SSID), click "Connect" and enter the password if it is required.

II. Built-in Driver Installation

This section covers installing the driver that is built into the device.

Steps:

1. Insert: Insert the EW-7822UN7 into your computer.
2. Install the Driver: Install the driver from the device.
3. Connect: Connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Insert EW-7822UN7 into your computer.

II-2. Install the Built-in Driver

1. After inserting the EW-7822UN7 into the computer, find the name "Edimax_7822UN7" as a local Disk (CD Drive) ?.
2. Enter the folder where the driver "EW-7822UN7_SetupWizard.exe" is located.
3. Click on EW-7822UN7_SetupWizard. Click on the "Install" button and follow the system prompts to complete the driver installation.

II-3. Connect to the Network

1. Click the Wi-Fi icon ? on the Windows taskbar to connect to the Wi-Fi network. The icon might be different depending on your OS versions.
2. Select your Wi-Fi network (SSID), connect, and enter the password if it is required.

III. Download & Install the Driver

This section details how to download and install the latest drivers from the Edimax website.

2. Download & Install: Download and install the driver.
3. Connect: Connect to your Wi-Fi network.

1. Download the latest drivers from the Edimax website. Please access the link below. Search the model name in the search box and download the up-to-date drivers. https://www.edimax.com/download

2. Unzip the downloaded file and run the "EW-7822UN7_SetupWizard.exe".
3. Click on EW-7822UN7_SetupWizard. Click on the "Install" button and follow the system prompts to complete the driver installation.

III-3. Connect to Wi-Fi Network

IV. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Why the Wi-Fi icon doesn't display on the Windows taskbar?

Your computer doesn't support Plug-and-Play for this device. Please go to Section II-2: Built-in Driver Installation or Section III-2: Download & Install the Driver.

Q2. How to disable the existing Wi-Fi adapter?

Right-click the Windows Start button ?, and select the "Device Manager". Double-click the "Network Adapter" to expand all the network adapters. Right-click on the target network adapter and disable it. Multiple Wi-Fi adapters may be used in specified scenarios; you can enable the existing Wi-Fi adapter(s) after the EW-7822UN7 works with your computer properly.

Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Radiation Exposure Statement

This equipment complies with FCC RF radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This device was tested for typical lap held operations with the device contacted directly to the human body to the back side of the notebook computer. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, avoid direct contact to the transmitting antenna during transmitting.

Body SAR

This product meets applicable national SAR limits of 1.6W/kg. The highest SAR value reported under this standard during product certification is 1.19 Wkg.

When carrying the product or using it while worn on your body, maintain a distance of 0.5cm from the body to ensure compliance with RF exposure requirements.

Edimax is responsible for ensuring frequency stability such that an emission is maintained within the band of operation under all conditions of normal operation.

For products available in the USA/Canada market, only channels 1~11 can be operated. Selection of other channels is not possible.

Transmitters in the 5.925-7.125 GHz band are prohibited from operating to control or communicate with unmanned aircraft systems.

RED Compliance Statement

This device has been tested and meets the ICNIRP exposure guidelines and the European SAR is measured with this device at a separation of 0.5cm to the body, while transmitting at the highest certified output power level in all frequency bands of this device.
