Software Installation
This wizard can run on Windows 2000/XP/Vista. The following procedures are demonstrated on Windows XP.
You can install the Wireless Adapter using the EZMAX Setup Wizard from the included CD-ROM. This wizard is a user-friendly tool for configuring your internet connection. Upon starting the EZMAX Setup Wizard, a welcome screen will appear, prompting you to select a language for configuration. The wizard will guide you through the network connection process. Specific instructions for the EZMAX Setup Wizard are not provided here.
If you lose the CD-ROM or prefer a traditional setup, follow the instructions in this quick installation guide.
Step 1: Execute the 'Edimax_xxxx_Setup.exe' program to install your wireless adapter. Read the end-user license agreement and click 'I accept the terms of the license agreement' followed by 'Next' to proceed.
Step 2: Choose the configuration tool. It is recommended to select 'Edimax Configuration Tool' for full access to the wireless network card's functions. Alternatively, for configuration using Windows XP or Vista's built-in tools, select 'Microsoft Zero Configuration Tool', then click 'Next'.
Step 3: For wireless compatibility, select 'Optimize for WiFi mode' and click 'Next'. For enhanced wireless performance, select 'Optimize for performance mode'. Note that wireless compatibility is not guaranteed in performance mode. Refer to the user manual for details on performance mode.
Step 4: When the 'InstallShield Wizard Complete' message appears, click 'Finish' to finalize the driver installation.
Connect to Wireless Access Point
Using the Configuration Utility to Connect to a Wireless Access Point:
Step 1: After installation, a wireless configuration utility icon will appear in the lower-right corner of your Windows desktop. Right-click the icon and select 'Launch Config Utilities'.
Step 2: The configuration utility will automatically scan for wireless access points. Select the access point you wish to connect to and click 'Connect'. If your desired access point is not listed, click 'Rescan'.
