Installation Spacing Requirements
The following diagram illustrates recommended spacing for installing the washer in a recessed area or closet.
Diagram shows a washer installed in a cabinet or closet. Dimensions are provided for clearances around the unit and ventilation openings. Key clearances include:
- 14" (356 mm) maximum height for the unit within the enclosure.
- 5" (126 mm) clearance from the front of the unit.
- 3" (76 mm) clearance on the sides and top.
- Ventilation openings: 48 in² (310 cm²) at the top and 24 in² (155 cm²) at the bottom are required for closet doors.
- 1" (25 mm) additional space on all sides is recommended to reduce noise transfer.
Note: Dimensions shown are recommended clearances, except for closet door ventilation openings which are minimum required. Consider additional space for easier installation and servicing, as well as for companion appliances and clearances for walls, doors, and floor moldings. If a closet or louvered door is installed, air openings at the top and bottom of the door are necessary.
