5. Getting Started
Charging Your Headset
- Connect the USB Type-C cable to the headset and the USB Type-A end to a USB power source.
Charging Indicator:

Full | Solid Green |
For optimal results, connect your Razer Kraken V4 to your computer's USB port with the provided charging cable.
Powering Your Headset On/Off
Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds to turn the headset on or off. The LED indicator will show solid green when powered on and will be off when powered off.
Connecting to Your Device
Wired Mode
Connect the headset using the USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable.
2.4 GHz Mode
Plug the Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle USB Type C into your device. The headset will automatically connect.
PC Setup:
- Install Razer Synapse by visiting razer.com/synapse.
- Open Sound settings and select "Razer Kraken V4 - Game" for Output and "Razer Kraken V4 - Chat" for Input.
Adjusting Game/Chat Balance:
Press and hold the SmartSwitch button for 3 seconds. Turn the volume wheel to increase game volume and decrease chat volume, or vice versa.
6. Using Your Razer Kraken V4
Razer HyperClear Wide-Band Microphone
Microphone Extension: Extend the microphone for use.
Correct Microphone Placement: Position the microphone in front of your mouth, ensuring the diaphragm is facing you and the ventilation is unobstructed.
Muting/Unmuting the Microphone:
- Press the Microphone Mute button. The indicator will turn solid red when muted.
- Press again to unmute.
Volume Controls
Turn the volume wheel to adjust the volume.
Checking Battery Level
The LED indicator shows the battery level:

Razer Synapse is your central hub for managing your Razer devices. The main tabs include:
- Dashboard: An overview of all your Razer devices and services.
- Gamer Room: Control Razer Aether lighting devices.
- Devices & Modules: Manage installed modules and available downloads.
- Global Shortcuts: Assign custom key combinations to functions.
- Kraken V4: Device-specific settings for your headset.
- Macro: Create and manage macros for complex command sequences.
- Linked Games: Associate applications with your devices for automatic profile switching.
- Settings: Configure application language, launch behavior, recommendations, device lighting, and notifications.
Dashboard
The Dashboard provides access to all your devices, modules, and online Razer services.
Gamer Room
Manage Razer Aether lighting devices and create immersive lighting environments.
Synapse Override: Devices with Synapse Override enabled will be displayed here.
Controlled by Gamer Room App: Devices controlled by the Gamer Room app.

Razer Kraken V4 Settings
Profiles: Save and manage settings for different applications or games. You can switch between profiles easily.
Audio Equalizer: Customize audio profiles for optimal gaming, movie, or music experiences. You can select presets or create custom profiles.
Game Profiles: Automatically load THX Spatial Audio or equalizer presets when a specific game is launched.
Volume: Adjust headset volume or system volume using the Windows Volume Mixer.
Game/Chat Balance: Use the slider to adjust the mix between game audio and chat audio.
Sound Properties: Access Windows Sound Properties for advanced audio configurations.
Enhancement: Personalize audio settings, including Sound Normalization, Bass Boost, and Vocal Clarity.
Microphone: Adjust microphone volume, mute the mic, and enhance mic quality with features like Normalization, Vocal Clarity, and Mic Noise Cancellation.
Microphone Monitoring (Side Tone): Hear your microphone audio directly through the headset.
Lighting: Customize Razer Chroma RGB lighting effects. Choose from various presets or create your own dynamic lighting effects.
Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the headset lighting.
Turn off lighting: Save power by automatically turning off lighting when the system display is off or after a period of inactivity.
Quick Effects: Apply pre-defined lighting effects like Audio Meter, Breathe, Fire, Spectrum Cycling, Starlight, Static, Wave, and Circular.
Advanced Effects: Use Chroma Studio to create custom lighting effects.
Power: Manage power consumption for wireless devices. Configure wireless power saving settings to automatically turn off the device after a period of inactivity.
Demo: Experience THX Spatial Audio and Stereo modes.
Macro
My Macros: Create, edit, and organize macros for complex command sequences.
New Macro: Record keystrokes, mouse movements, and button presses. Customize macro settings like start delay, shortcut keys, and delay settings.
Key Bindings: Assign macros to your device's keys or buttons.
Linked Games
Games: Associate applications with your Razer devices. The headset will automatically switch to the selected profile when the application is launched.
Devices: View and manage applications associated with your devices.
Settings
Language: Change the display language of Razer Synapse.
Auto-Launch: Configure application startup behavior.
Recommendations: Receive personalized recommendations for products and features.
Device Lighting: Choose which application controls your device's lighting effects.
Notifications: Enable on-screen notifications, even when running full-screen applications.
8. Safety and Maintenance
Safety Precautions
- To ensure optimal safety, follow these guidelines:
- If you experience issues, disconnect the device and contact Razer support at support.razer.com.
- Do not disassemble the device. Doing so will void your warranty.
- Keep the device away from liquids and moisture. Operate within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
- Gently stretch the headband before wearing to avoid undue tension.
- The headset provides sound isolation. Remove the headset when activities require awareness of your surroundings.
- Prolonged exposure to high volumes can damage hearing. Maintain a comfortable listening level.
Maintenance
