5. Getting Started
The Mic:
- Extend the microphone by pulling its tip until fully extended.
- Bend the mic so the diaphragm is a few millimeters from your mouth, with the mic diaphragm facing your mouth and the air vent on the opposite side.
- Press the mic mute button to turn the microphone on or off. A red indicator signifies the mic is muted.
The Volume Wheel:
Rotate the volume wheel to increase or decrease the volume.
Getting Comfy:
Gently stretch the headset before placing it over your head to minimize headband stress. Do not stretch beyond its limits.
6. Installing Razer Synapse 3
- Ensure your Razer device is connected to a USB port on your computer.
- Install Razer Synapse 3 when prompted or download the installer from razer.com/synapse. (This prompt is applicable for Windows 8 or later).
- Create your Razer ID or log in with an existing account.

Synapse Tab:
The default tab for navigating the Dashboard subtab.
Dashboard:
An overview of Razer Synapse 3, providing access to Razer devices, modules, and online services.
Audio Tab:
Customize your device's sound properties. Changes are saved automatically.
- Sound: Modify sound properties. Includes volume adjustment, link to Windows Volume Mixer, and link to Windows Sound Properties. Features a THX Spatial Audio Demo to test spatial effects.
- Mixer: Enable/disable THX Spatial Audio and calibrate audio positioning.
- Enhancement: Customize incoming audio settings like Bass Boost, Sound Normalization, and Voice Clarity.
- EQ: Adjust the frequency response of your audio system with preset or custom equalizer settings.
Mic Tab:
Adjust settings for outgoing microphone audio.
- Microphone: Enable/disable the microphone.
- Mic Volume: Adjust microphone input level or mute the mic.
- Mic Sensitivity: Adjust sensitivity to cut background noise and isolate your voice.
- Sidetone: Monitor microphone audio through the headset, with adjustable volume.
- Enhancements: Improve microphone input quality with Volume Normalization, Ambient Noise Reduction, and Vocal Clarity.
Lighting Tab:
Customize your Razer device's lighting settings.
- Brightness: Toggle lighting on/off or adjust luminance.
- Switch Off Lighting: Power-saving feature to disable lighting when the display is off or after a set idle period.
- Cosplay Mode: Set a specific lighting effect that can be enabled without Razer Synapse 3.
- Stream-Reactive Lighting: Lighting changes dynamically based on integrated actions for streaming services.
- Advanced Effects: Choose and customize Chroma Effects via the Chroma Studio.
Quick Effects: Apply preset lighting effects like Breathing, Spectrum Cycling, and Static.
Chroma Sync: Synchronize quick effects with other supported Razer Chroma-enabled devices.
Profiles Tab:
Manage profiles and link them to games and applications.
- Devices: View which device uses a profile, create, rename, duplicate, or delete profiles. Link profiles to applications for automatic activation.
- Linked Games: Add games, view linked peripherals, and sort games by activity.
Settings Window:
Configure startup behavior, change language, view master guides, or perform factory resets.
- General: Change display language, startup behavior, and access master guides.
- Reset: Perform a factory reset on devices with on-board memory. Note: Resetting devices without on-board memory creates a new default profile.
- About: View software information, copyright, terms of use, check for updates, and access Razer's social communities.
8. Safety and Maintenance
Safety Guidelines:
- Unplug the device and contact Razer support if troubleshooting fails.
- Do not disassemble the device; doing so voids the warranty. Avoid operating under abnormal current loads.
- Keep the device away from liquids and moisture. Operate within the temperature range of 0°C (32°F) to 40°C (104°F). Unplug if temperatures exceed this range.
- Be aware of your surroundings. The headset isolates ambient sound, reducing awareness of the external environment. Remove the headset when activities require full environmental awareness.
- Protect your hearing. Prolonged listening at excessive volumes can cause hearing damage. Adhere to recommended safe listening levels (e.g., max 86dB for 8 hours).
Maintenance and Use:
To maintain optimal condition, unplug the device monthly and clean it with a soft cloth or cotton swab to prevent dirt buildup. Avoid using soap or harsh cleaning agents.
