This document provides instructions for the Black & Decker 1000 Series Heavy-Duty Electronic Pest Repeller. It is designed to repel mice, rats, cockroaches, spiders, scorpions, and other pests using ultrasonic and sonic sound technology.

About Ultrasound

Ultrasonic waves are nearly silent to humans and most animals, but pests can hear them. Household pests are repelled because they cannot adapt to the constantly changing array of ultrasonic waves emitted by the unit. These wave signals disrupt the pests' nervous system, affecting their feeding and communication habits, and forcing them to leave the area. This unit may be used around humans and non-rodent pets such as dogs, cats, birds, and fish.

• Results are based on independent laboratory tests.
• Ultrasound loses intensity as it travels and is absorbed by soft objects.
• Ultrasound cannot reach nesting and feeding places behind walls, under floors, or within cracks.
• Multiple units may be necessary for larger rooms.

About Sonic Sound

Sonic sound waves are low-frequency, audible sounds that carry further than ultrasonic waves and are effective in repelling larger pests such as rats. These lower frequency sounds are effective in protecting larger areas.

⚠️ Caution: Prolonged exposure to the unit in the loud and medium mode (sonic) settings is not recommended for pets in a confined area. It may also be irritating to humans.

⚙️ How to Use

This product is for indoor use. Under optimal conditions, the heavy-duty performance of the 1000 series units covers an extra-large size room. Place the unit on a flat surface. Operate the pest repeller continuously, 24 hours a day, occasionally moving it to a different location.

ℹ️ Note: For best results, place additional units in adjacent rooms and on each level of the dwelling. It may take up to 2 weeks to see results. Continue to use the unit to keep pests from returning.

1. Insert the barrel plug end of the AC adapter cord into the POWER ? jack (located on the back of the unit).
2. Plug the transformer end into an AC electrical wall outlet.
3. Move the switch to the ON position. The ? LED light will remain illuminated as long as the unit is operating.
4. Refer to the diagram on the back of the unit to select the SOUND PATTERN and SOUND VOLUME switch positions according to the type of pests you want the unit to repel.
5. Slide the SOUND VOLUME switch to select the sound level to broadcast.
6. Slide the SOUND PATTERN switch to select which pests to repel. The SOUND PATTERN switch adjusts the length, interval, and pattern of the sound.

⚠️ Caution: This unit should not be used with any other adapter than the one provided.

• Do not immerse the unit in water or any other liquid.
• Unplug the adapter before cleaning. To clean the exterior, wipe the unit with a soft dry cloth.
• The unit requires no maintenance or refills.
