Quick Tips for Use
- Simple Operation: Activate hands-free by approaching the spout or with a touch. The dispenser differentiates between a light touch and a grab, preventing accidental activation during programming or when turning the unit on/off.
- Hands-Free Feature: Grabbing and holding the dispenser spout for 10 seconds activates or deactivates the hands-free mode.
- Refilling: Remove the spout from the base to refill hand soap or dish soap from above the counter.
- Adjusting Soap Amount: The dispenser can be programmed to dispense different amounts of soap. Refer to the "How It Works" section for detailed steps on adjusting the soap volume (1-5 taps).
- Cleaning: Rotate the spout to either side to turn the dispenser off for easy cleaning.
How It Works
Changing the Amount of Soap
The dispenser is designed to activate with a touch or by proximity. A single tap dispenses a factory-set amount of soap. To adjust the dispensed amount:
- Grab the spout for 5 seconds. A solid purple light will appear.
- Release the spout.
- Tap the spout 1-5 times to select your desired soap amount. The blue light will flash the number of times selected.
- The dispenser will return to a solid purple light. Your settings are saved.
- If a different amount is desired, re-tap within 5 seconds. The purple light will turn off 5 seconds after the last flash.
The dispenser will dispense the same amount with touch and hands-free activation.
Disabling Hands-Free Mode
The hands-free sensor allows dispensing without touching the spout when your hand or a wet sponge is within 1/2 inch. To disable this feature:
- Grab the spout for 10 seconds. The purple light will turn on after 5 seconds and turn off after 10 seconds. Release the spout when the light turns off.
- A solid red light will appear for 3 seconds, indicating hands-free is now off.
- To re-enable hands-free, grab the spout for 10 seconds. The purple light will come on after 5 seconds and turn off after 10 seconds. Release the spout when the light turns off. A solid blue light will appear for 3 seconds, indicating hands-free is now on.
Installation Instructions
Step 1: Mounting the Dispenser
Parts for Step 1: Dispenser spout, base assembly, shank, nut, gasket.
Hint: Mount the dispenser on the opposite side of the faucet handle to prevent accidental activation when using the faucet.
Action: Align the wire with the groove. Ensure the wire is completely pressed into the groove. Hand tighten the nut. For best performance, keep the center of the spout aligned within 25 degrees of the base center. Adjust the base if more alignment is needed for proper soap direction into the sink.
Step 2: Securing the Wire and Installing the Bottle
Parts for Step 2: Dispenser assembly, soap bottle.
Action: After the nut is installed, pull approximately 1/2 inch of wire from the groove. Ensure the gasket is present; if not, align and press it into the bottom of the shank. Align the feature (1) in the gasket with the groove (2) for a proper seal. Install the soap bottle.
Step 3: Connecting the Wire
Action: Plug Wire (1) into outlet (2).
Step 4: Filling the Dispenser
You can remove the spout from any position by pulling it upwards.
Filling Method: Use the supplied funnel to fill the bottle. Thinner liquids are recommended for battery life and to prevent backup. For optimal filling rate, use a stream about the diameter of a pencil lead. This may take longer but prevents overflow. Do not allow soap to build up in the funnel. The normal fill amount for an empty bottle is 10 ounces of liquid.
Note: Abrasive soaps are not recommended as they can damage the pump.
Step 5: Battery Installation
Parts for Step 4: Battery box, AA or C batteries.
Battery Types:
- "AA" Batteries: Last up to 1.5 years.
- "C" Batteries: Last up to 4.5 years.
Action: Ensure batteries are aligned properly (+/-). Align the +/- on the cap with the +/- on the battery box. Place the battery box on the cabinet floor or hang it on the wall as shown.
Step 6: Operation and Final Checks
Wait 15 seconds after applying power for the unit to initialize. It may take one tap to initialize depending on spout position.
Indicator Lights:
- Blue Light: Indicates normal operation.
- Flashing Red Light: Indicates low batteries.
When replacing the spout or rotating it to the "OFF" position, wait for the lights to turn off before operation. The indicator light turns red when the spout is removed or rotated to "OFF". It turns blue when replaced or rotated to "ON" and released. Activation will not be available until the blue light turns off.
Troubleshooting
- Red Light with New Batteries: Check battery orientation; one or more may be reversed.
- Poor Pump Performance: Soap or lotion may be too thick. Try increasing run time or adding a small amount of water to the soap.
- No Activation / No Light: Ensure the spout is securely attached to the base. If the spout is rotated too far from the center, it may be inadvertently turned off. Remove and re-center the spout. If the light is still off, remove and reinstall the battery cap to reset the unit.
- Pump Activates Unintentionally: If approaching the unit slowly in proximity mode, it may activate before processing a grab. Approach faster. Hands-free can be disabled if desired.
- Poor or Inadvertent Touch/Proximity Performance: Clean and dry the base and contact clip if excess water or soap is present. Ensure hands/fingers are close enough to the spout for proximity activation.
