Controller Overview
The 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller is designed for mobile gaming on Android devices. It features a familiar layout with modern enhancements for a superior gaming experience.
Controller Layout
Left Side View

Power Operations
- Power On: Press the [Home button].
- Power Off: Hold the [Home button] for 3 seconds.
- Force Power Off: Hold the [Home button] for 6 seconds.
Android Connectivity
Requires Android 13 or above.
Bluetooth Connection
- Press the [Home button] to turn on the controller.
- Hold the [Pair button] for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The [Status indicator] will blink rapidly. (This is required for the very first time only.)
- On your Android device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for '[8BitDo Ultimate MG]', and pair. The [Status indicator] will stay solid when the connection is successful.
Turbo Function
Note: [Home button], [Left Analog Stick], [Right Analog Stick], and [P1/P2 buttons] do not support turbo functionality. Turbo settings are not permanent and will revert to default after the controller is powered off or disconnected.
Turbo Mode
To enable: Hold [Turbo button] + [Button to set turbo], then press [Turbo button] again. Example: Enable Turbo for [A button] - Hold [Turbo button] + [A button], then press [Turbo button].
Auto Turbo Mode
To enable: Hold [Turbo button] + [Button to set auto turbo], then press [Turbo button] again. Example: Enable Auto Turbo for [X button] - Hold [Turbo button] + [X button], then press [Turbo button].
Disable Turbo
To disable: Hold [Turbo button] + [Button with active turbo], then press [Turbo button] again.
P1/P2 Buttons Configuration
A single button on the controller can be remapped to the [P1] or [P2] buttons. Configuration on the [Left Analog Stick] or [Right Analog Stick] is not supported. The [Profile LED] will blink continuously when the configured button is pressed.
Configure P1 Button
Press and hold the [P1 button] + [Button to copy], then press the [P1 button] again. Example: To set [P1 button] to function as [A button] - Hold [P1 button] + [A button], then press [P1 button]. Result: [P1 button] = [A button].
Configure P2 Button
Press and hold the [P2 button] + [Button to copy], then press the [P2 button] again. Example: To set [P2 button] to function as [B button] - Hold [P2 button] + [B button], then press [P2 button]. Result: [P2 button] = [B button].
Fast Button Swap
The [Profile LED] will blink continuously when a swapped button is pressed, indicating its function has changed. Unsupported buttons for swap: [D-pad], [Left Analog Stick], [Right Analog Stick], [Minus button], [Plus button], [Home button], [P1 button], [P2 button].
To activate swap: Press and hold the two buttons that need to be configured, then press the [Star button] (represented by a star symbol). Repeat the same procedure or reconnect the controller to deactivate the function. Example: Swap [A button] and [B button] - Hold [A button] + [B button], then press [Star button]. The [Profile LED] will blink when [A button] or [B button] is pressed.
Battery Information
Power Status Indicators
- Low Battery: [Power indicator] Red LED blinks.
- Charging: [Power indicator] Green LED blinks.
- Fully Charged: [Power indicator] Green LED turns off.
Battery Specifications
Built-in 300mAh rechargeable battery pack with approximately 13 hours of playtime and 90 minutes of charging time.
Automatic Shutdown
The controller will automatically shut down if it fails to connect within 1 minute of startup, or if there are no operations within 15 minutes after establishing a connection. The controller will not shut down during wired connection.

- Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the device yourself. Unauthorized actions may result in serious injury.
- Avoid crushing, disassembling, puncturing, or attempting to modify the device or its battery, as these actions can be dangerous.
- Any unauthorized changes or modifications to the device will void the manufacturer's warranty.
