This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Motorola Moto Buds Loop wireless earbuds, covering setup, usage, customization, troubleshooting, and safety information.
Getting Started
This guide will help you discover your earbuds. The Moto Buds Loop are wireless earbuds that allow you to control media, manage calls, or activate your voice assistant with simple gestures on the go.
Note: Product images are for illustration purposes only and may differ from the actual product purchased.
Charging Case
The charging case includes charging connectors, an indicator LED, a function button, and a charging port.
Earbuds
Inserting the Earbuds
Caution: If you experience skin irritation, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
- Open the Bridge to attach the earbuds. The speaker housing (ball-shaped part) should be at the front, and the rear cover (bean-shaped part) should be at the back of your ear.
- Adjust the earbuds for a comfortable fit and the best sound experience.
Note: The earbuds are interchangeable, meaning you can wear either earbud in either ear. When both earbuds are inserted, they automatically adapt to the left-right audio channels. You will hear a “Ding” sound after a tone indicating the in-ear detection.
Using the Earbuds
To use the earbuds, perform the following actions on the earbud control buttons (refer to the Earbuds section for control buttons):
- Single Tap: Tap any control button to play/pause music, or accept/reject an incoming call.
- Double Tap (Left Earbud): Tap the left control button twice to play the previous track.
- Double Tap (Right Earbud): Tap the right control button twice to play the next track.
- Triple Tap (Left Earbud): Tap the left control button three times to increase the volume.
- Triple Tap (Right Earbud): Tap the right control button three times to decrease the volume.
- Press and Hold (3 seconds): Press and hold any control button for 3 seconds to activate the voice assistant (see Using the Voice Assistant) or reject a call.
Tip: If you are using the earbuds with Android devices, download the Moto Buds app to access the Customize touch gestures option.
Charging the Earbuds
Note: Before charging, remove any protective film from the earbuds or charging case.
Charge the case using the USB-C® cable.
Tips:
- To maximize usage time and battery life, store the earbuds in the charging case when not in use. Otherwise, the sensors remain active and drain the battery.
- When the case is charged, the earbuds will automatically charge when placed in the case.
Note: On some Motorola phones, you can view the earbud and charging case battery levels by swiping up on the home screen and tapping Settings > Connected devices > Settings next to moto buds loop. For more information, see Moto Buds app and Indicator LED status.
Pairing and Connecting
The wireless earbuds are designed to be compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth and audio-enabled devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. They use Bluetooth technology for wireless connectivity, allowing you to enjoy music without a wired connection.
Quick Pairing
You can quickly pair the earbuds with Motorola devices running Android 12 or later, as well as other Android smartphones and tablets compatible with Google Fast Pair.
Tip: For information about Google Fast Pair, consult your Android device manufacturer.
Note: Google Fast Pair requires a device signed in to a Google account.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the device you want to pair with.
- If the earbuds are in the open case, they will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode and a pop-up window will appear.
- Tap Connect in the pop-up window and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection and download the Moto Buds app if it's not already installed on your device.
Tip: On Motorola phones, to turn on Bluetooth, swipe up from the home screen and tap Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device.
Note: If the pop-up window does not appear, refer to Manual Pairing.
Manual Pairing
You can manually pair the earbuds with Bluetooth-compatible devices, such as phones, tablets, and laptops running various operating systems like Android, iOS, and Windows.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the device you want to pair with and open the list of available Bluetooth devices.
- With the earbuds in the open case, press and hold the Function button (refer to the Charging Case section for button location) for 2 seconds until the indicator LED starts flashing blue.
Tip: On Motorola phones, to turn on Bluetooth, swipe up from the home screen and tap Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device.

Note: If the pop-up window appears on your device before pressing the Function button, follow the Quick Pairing instructions to pair the earbuds.
Dual Connection
Your earbuds can connect to two devices simultaneously. Dual connection is turned off by default. Turn it on so you don't have to manually switch between connections.
Note: To enable dual connection, at least one of the connected devices must be running Android.
- Install the Moto Buds app on your Android device.
- Ensure your earbuds are connected to your Android device (see Pairing and Connecting).
- Tap Moto Buds, then tap the switch next to Dual connection to turn it on.
- Follow the steps in Pairing and Connecting to connect to the second device.
Notes:
- When pairing the earbuds with two devices, you will only hear audio from one device at a time. Playback priority is as follows: incoming calls have priority over media playback (music and videos), and both have priority over an idle device. For example, if your earbuds are connected to a tablet and a smartphone, and you receive a call on the smartphone while watching a video on the tablet, the audio will automatically switch to the smartphone.
- If your earbuds are connected to two devices (Device A and Device B), and Device A is playing media, you can play media on Device B, but the audio from Device B will pause or mute. Audio from Device B can only be heard through the earbuds when playback on Device A is paused.
Indicator LED Status
Indicator LED status:
- Flashing blue: Earbud pairing in progress.
- Flashing green four times: Earbuds are paired.
- Flashing orange: The case is charging.
- Solid green light: Charging is complete, or the case battery level is above 60%.
- Solid orange light: Battery level is low.
- Flashing white: Earbuds have been reset (see Disconnecting, restarting, or resetting the earbuds).
