Helpful Hints and Tips
Energy Saving Tips
- Avoid long door openings.
- Keep appliance away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Do not set temperature colder than necessary.
- Do not store warm or evaporating liquid.
- Place appliance in a well-ventilated, humidity-free room.
- Do not adjust the combination of drawers, crisper, and shelves if it is designed for energy efficiency.
Hints for Refrigeration
- Do not place hot food directly into the refrigerator or freezer.

- Fruit and vegetables: Store in the special drawer.
- Butter and cheese: Label and date each frozen package.
Hints for the Storage of Frozen Food
- Ensure frozen food is stored correctly by the retailer.
- Once defrosted, food deteriorates rapidly and should not be refrozen.
- Do not exceed the storage period indicated by the manufacturer.
Switching Off Your Appliance
For extended periods of non-use:
- Remove all food.
- Unplug the power cord.
- Clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
- Ensure doors are wedged open slightly for air circulation.
Cleaning and Care
Clean the appliance regularly (at least every two months) for hygiene. Caution: Disconnect from mains power before cleaning.
Exterior Cleaning
- Wipe the digital and display panels with a soft cloth.
- Spray water onto the cleaning cloth, not directly onto the appliance.
- Clean doors, handles, and cabinet surfaces with mild detergent, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Caution: Do not use sharp objects or harsh chemicals (Thinner, Car detergent, Clorox, ethereal oil, Benzene) as they can damage the surface or cause fire.
Interior Cleaning
Clean the interior regularly. Use a weak solution of bicarbonate of soda, then rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly. This helps prevent frost buildup.
Frost Removal
If frost builds up (over 4mm), or if it interferes with storage:
- Remove food and accessories, unplug, and leave doors open. Ventilate the room.
- Scrape away frost with a plastic scraper (not included).
- If necessary, use a cloth soaked in warm water to accelerate thawing.
- After defrosting, clean as described above. Ensure the interior is completely dry before plugging back in.
- Caution: Never use metal or sharp instruments for frost removal.
Door Seals Cleaning
Clean door seals with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Ensure seals are completely dry before powering on.
Replacing the LED Light
Warning: The LED light must only be replaced by a qualified, registered electrician.
Troubleshooting
Perform these checks before calling for service. Warning: Do not attempt self-repair.
Problem | Possible Cause & Solution |
---|---|
Appliance is not working correctly | Check power cord connection. Check fuse/circuit. Ambient temperature may be too low. Freezer may not operate during automatic defrost cycle. |
Odours from the compartments | Interior needs cleaning. Food, containers, or wrapping may cause odours. |
Noise from the appliance | Normal noises include compressor running, air movement, gurgling, popping (defrosting), and clicking (compressor start). Unusual noises may be due to an unlevel cabinet, appliance touching wall, or bottles/containers falling. |
The motor runs continuously | Temperature setting too cold, large quantity of warm food stored, high ambient temperature, doors kept open too long, or after installation/extended off period. |
A layer of frost occurs in the compartment | Air outlets blocked by food. Insufficient ventilation. Door not fully closed. Refer to cleaning and care for frost removal. |
Temperature inside is too warm | Doors open too long/frequently, obstacle preventing closure, insufficient clearance. |
Temperature inside is too cold | Increase the temperature setting. |
Doors can't be closed easily | Check if the top of the refrigerator is tilted back for self-closing, or if an internal item is obstructing closure. |
Water drips on the floor | Water pan or draining spout may be misaligned or blocked. Pull appliance away from wall to check. |
The light is not working | LED light may be damaged (requires electrician). Control system may have disabled lights due to door being open too long (close and reopen door). |
