Installation Instructions
- Remove the rear bumper, three fixings along the lower edge, four fixings on the top edge and four fixings around each wheel arch.
- Remove the rear bumper impact beam. (This is not refitted with the Towbar assembly).
- Lower the rear exhaust silencer from its hangers and support to prevent damage, and remove the heat shield. (If you don't want to remove the heat shield fitting the Towbar is possible by simply bending it out the way to access the Towbar mounting point).
- Remove the square rubber grommets from the Towbar mounting points on lower face of each chassis member.
- Using Item E with Item J and Item F with Item J loosely bolt Item A to the rear panel.
- Insert side arms (Items B) into each open end of chassis members and loosely attach to chassis's with Items H and C and to Item A with Items G and K.
- Using Item D bolt the ball bracket and wiring plate (not supplied in this kit) to Item A.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts ensuring Towbar is rigid and secure.
- Refit Bumper, heat shield and exhaust silencer. (central bumper tag may need trimming to pass through Towbar middles.
Diagram Description
The diagram illustrates the Tow-Trust Towbar TF1036 assembly for the Fiat Panda 2004-2012. It shows the main crossmember (labeled A) mounted to the rear chassis of the vehicle. Side arms (labeled B) extend from the crossmember. Various bolts, nuts, and washers (labeled C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L) are depicted connecting these components to the chassis and to each other, as well as attaching the ball bracket. The diagram provides a visual guide to the placement and connection of parts during installation.
Notes
1. Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9 -139 Nm. (For other Torque Settings see notes overleaf.)
2. Nose load limits and vehicle manufacturer's trailer / caravan weight limits must be observed.
