II. Wire Connection
The Wi-Fi SPI controller connects to a power adapter and LED strips. The controller features a DC power input jack and output terminals for V+, Data, and GND. The LED strips connect to these output terminals. The controller has a button: a short press turns the device on or cycles through built-in modes, while a long press (3 seconds) turns it off, and a longer press (8 seconds) restores factory settings.
III. Download Surplife APP
Download the "Surplife" APP from the Apple Store or Google Play Store to control the device.
IV. How to connect the controller to Wi-Fi network?
1. Register/Login
Open the Surplife app and register for a new account or log in to an existing one.
2. Device Preparation
Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and the controller device is powered on.
3. Add Device
Within the Surplife app, tap the "Add Device" button or the '+' icon. Select your Wi-Fi network (Note: only 2.4GHz networks are supported) and enter the network password.
4. Device Configuration
Once the device is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network, you can customize its name and assign it to a specific room within the app.
V. About Settings
1. General Settings
In the settings interface, you can configure parameters such as the IC model, color correction, and the number of controllable points. The total number of points per segment is limited to 300, and the total LED chips quantity cannot exceed 2048.
2. IC Number Setting
The IC number setting affects the 'smearing' function, which influences how light effects transition.
VI. Detailed introduction of APP functions
1. Multi-color Function
Adjust the color of the lights for the entire strip or for individual segments. The app provides dedicated controls for color selection, editing, and brightness adjustment. The segmentation interface allows users to freely apply or remove colors from specific segments and set gradient effects.
2. Scene Settings
The app offers four pre-set scenes: "Life", "Scenery", "Festivals", and "Mood". Users can also create their own custom lighting effects by selecting "DIY" or "Collection".
3. Playlist Mode
Create dynamic lighting sequences by setting the duration for various lighting effects and entering cycle mode. You can select different scene modes and their respective durations to combine them into a custom playlist.
4. Smear Function
Use the '+' icon to create custom lighting colors and dynamic effects, then save them. Before starting a DIY project, ensure the IC number in the app's "Settings" matches the device's IC number to guarantee correct lighting effects. Mismatched IC numbers will result in incorrect visual output.
5. Music Mode
Synchronization with Music Rhythm
Synchronize lighting effects with the rhythm of music. Use the "Add Music" option to import music files or select from the app's built-in music library.
Microphone Input (MIC)
The lights will dynamically change color in response to sound rhythm detected by your phone's microphone. Microphone sensitivity can be adjusted. Audio input can be managed via the app's microphone or an external microphone (available in sound control versions).
6. Light Timer
Schedule your smart lights to turn on and off automatically at specific times using the timer function. Select your preferred lighting effect and color for scheduled events.
7. Group Control
This feature allows you to create groups of controllers for simultaneous operation, enabling synchronized lighting effects across multiple devices. Grouped light strips can operate in unison or change sequentially.
8. Linkage
Group strip lights together to achieve synchronized lighting effects. You can reorder devices on the list and adjust their direction. The grouped light strips will then synchronize their effects or change sequentially.
9. Siri Shortcuts (iOS)
Note: Siri functionality is limited to controlling scenes. iOS 12.0 and later versions support shortcut functions. Ensure your device is connected and "Cloud Online". To set up, navigate to the "Profile" section, tap "Siri Shortcuts", and add your desired scene.
10. Voice Control (Siri)
You can control scenes using Siri by stating commands like "Ask Siri: Turn on the {Scene Name}".
11. Third-Party Platform Integration
Connect with popular voice service platforms such as Alexa, Google Home, and Tmall Genie. After successfully binding your account, you can utilize voice commands for convenient control.
