Using Wisenet DDNS & P2P Service
Access recorders remotely using a DDNS address in a dynamic IP system. If DDNS connection fails, you can use a P2P service.
Accessing using DDNS address in the dynamic IP environment
In dynamic IP environments (e.g., xDSL/Cable modem), the router's WAN IP can change. DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) service allows continuous access using only the DDNS address. Before using Wisenet DDNS & P2P, set up network connection and DDNS first.
Setting the Wisenet DDNS & P2P
Click <Enable> to test remote connection. A QR code is created upon successful connection.
Note: The system connects to Wisenet DDNS first. If it fails, it automatically connects to P2P.
Connecting to the Viewer
To connect to the Wisenet mobile from your smartphone:
- Install and run the "Wisenet mobile" app. Scan the recorder's QR code on the <Add device> screen.
- When the QR code is scanned, the <Product ID> is automatically reflected in the mobile viewer. Enter the recorder ID/password to use the mobile viewer.
- Run the "Wisenet mobile" app; it will automatically connect to the recorder for easy monitoring.
To connect to the Wisenet Viewer from your PC
- Go to https://www.hanwha-security.com. Install and run the "Wisenet Viewer" app.
- In the "Settings > Device > Device list > Add > Manual" menu, select <IP type> to <DDNS/P2P>.
- Enter the recorder ID/password and <Product ID>, then click <Register>. The recorder information will be displayed, allowing you to use the "Wisenet Viewer" app.
Note: P2P service period expires in 5 years. Contact your vendor to extend it.
Connecting to a Network Using a Router
This guide is for beginners setting up 1-3 PCs and recorders in an xDSL/Cable modem environment using a router with a single internet line. Follow these instructions to set up your router, local PC, and recorder.
Connecting the cable:
Connect the Internet router to the recorder and local PC.
Connecting a router with PC:
Refer to the router's user manual.
Connecting a recorder and a router:
In the recorder's <Network> Setting menu, navigate to <IP & Port> and set the <IP address> and <Gateway> in <Setup>.
Important:
- The <Default gateway> from your local PC's
cmd.exe
window must match the recorder's <Gateway>. - The recorder's <IP address> (at least the third number) should match the <Default gateway> from your local PC.

Router and Internet connection setup
Router connection methods vary; check your specific router's settings.
Port forwarding on the router setup
Configure port forwarding on your router to connect to the recorder from outside your local LAN. The recorder uses <RTSP port>, <HTTP port>, <HTTPS port>, and camera proxy ports. Ensure all necessary ports are forwarded.
- If only the <HTTP port> is forwarded, the <RTSP port> (video transmission) may connect, but no video will display.
- If only the <RTSP port> is forwarded, connection will fail because the <HTTP port> (web connection) is not available.
Refer to your router's user manual.
System requirements for Web Viewer
- Use the browser recommended by your OS (e.g., Microsoft Edge).
- Supported browsers: Chrome, Edge, and Safari.
- Supported OS: Windows, Linux, and OS X environments.
- Tested environments: Windows® 10 with Edge 91, Google Chrome™ 91, Intel® Core™ i7-7700 processor 3.60 Ghz with NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX™ 1050 or Intel™ HD Graphics 630.
