2. Features and Connections
The CLUP Senior Tip Cleaner is designed for efficient tip cleaning and offers several key features:
- Splashguard: Protects the user from splashes.
- Window: The opening where the soldering iron tip is inserted for cleaning.
- Locking tab: Used to open the splashguard.
- Power cord socket: Connection point for the AC adapter.
- ESD safe connector: Ensures electrostatic discharge safety.
- USB-B connector: For software updates and connection to JBC Manager.
- Switch panel: Contains buttons for controlling the device.

Diagrams illustrate the location of the splashguard, window, locking tab, power cord socket, ESD safe connector, USB-B connector, switch panel, sensors window, and feet for vertical access on the CLUP unit.
3. Operation
The CLUP offers different operating modes:
- Continuous mode: For constant brush rotation.
- On / Off: Powers the device on or off.
- Sensor mode: Activates brushes automatically when a tip is detected.
LED Status Indicators:
- White: Off
- Blue: Standby
- Green: Brushes activated
- Blinking Red: Brushes jammed
For optimal cleaning results, it is recommended to place the soldering iron tip between the two brushes for approximately 1 second. Longer exposure may lead to dewetting of the tip surface, causing oxidation.
If excessive pressure is applied to the brushes with the tool, the cleaner will automatically stop to protect the motors. Removing the tool from the sensor detection area will reactivate the cleaner.
The CLUP automatically switches off if the splashguard is opened during operation.

4. Brush Replacement
Replacing the brushes is a simple process:
- Pull the locking tab to open the splashguard.
- To remove used brushes, pull them out of the cleaner by pressing their two opposite buttons.
- To insert new brushes, simply push them into place without pressing the buttons.
Illustrations demonstrate pulling the locking tab to open the splashguard and how to press buttons to remove used brushes, and insert new ones.
5. Collection Tray
The solder collection tray can be removed for disposal of solder waste. The tray can be removed without needing to disassemble the brushes.
