Product Overview: T210 and T245 Handpieces

The JBC T210 and T245 series offer high-performance soldering handpieces designed for precision and efficiency. These handpieces are part of a modular system that allows users to customize their soldering setup.

T210-A Handpiece

Power: 20W

Application: Ideal for high-precision work, Surface Mount Devices (SMD), and other detailed soldering tasks.

T245-A Handpiece

Power: 50W

Application: Suitable for general soldering work.

Specialized T245 Handpiece Variants

• T245-CA: Comfort handpiece, featuring an integrated heat isolator for improved ergonomics and safety.
• T245-FA: Handpiece with a set screw for securing cartridges.
• T245-MA: Comfort handpiece with a 3-meter cable.
• T245-NA: Nitrogen handpiece, designed for use with nitrogen soldering processes.

Compliance and Compatibility

The T210 and T245 handpieces and their cartridges comply with the MIL-SPEC-2000 standard, ensuring the potential difference between the soldering tip and the ground connection is less than 2 mV.

Cartridge Changing Procedure

Replacing a soldering cartridge is a straightforward process:

1. Step 1: Place the handpiece and remove the used cartridge.
2. Step 2: Place the handpiece on top of the new cartridge, press it slightly down, and then remove the handpiece. The cartridge will remain seated in the handpiece.
3. Step 3: Insert the cartridge into the appropriate opening on the handpiece's connector:
   • A: For straight C210 cartridges.
   • B: For curved C210 cartridges.
   • C: For C245 cartridges.

Important Note: It is essential to insert the cartridge fully until it clicks or seats properly for a good electrical connection. Use the alignment mark on the cartridge as a reference.

For the Nitrogen Handpiece (T245-NA): Before changing the cartridge, extract the nozzle.

Fume Extractor Accessories

Specially designed accessories for the JBC Series T210 and T245 handpieces. These fume extractors easily clip onto the handpiece and can be quickly removed for maintenance.

Structure of JBC Soldering Station System

The JBC series offers a modular system, allowing users to select basic modules for a customized soldering setup. A complete station typically requires a control unit, a handpiece, and one cartridge.

Maintenance

During soldering, flux from the solder can condense on the metal ring of the handpiece. These residues are insulating and can cause false contacts when the handpiece is placed on its stand, potentially disrupting sleep and hibernation features.

It is recommended to periodically clean the metal ring and the handpiece support with a suitable solvent.

Handpieces have a finite lifespan, and replacement due to wear is normal.

Warranty Information

JBC provides a 2-year warranty for its equipment, covering all manufacturing defects. This includes the replacement of defective parts and any necessary labor.

The warranty does not cover product wear resulting from normal use or misuse.

To claim the warranty, the equipment must be returned, postage paid, to the dealer where it was purchased. The return must include the fully completed warranty sheet.
