Safety Precautions:
- Warnings: Neglecting warnings may lead to serious injury or death.
- Cautions: Neglecting cautions may lead to injury or equipment damage.
General Warnings:
- Comply with electrical safety regulations. Ensure the device is securely fixed when wall or ceiling mounted.
- Use only the specified adapter. Incorrect adapters can cause fire, electric shock, or product damage.
- Verify power supply voltage before use.
- Improper power connection or battery replacement may cause explosion, fire, electric shock, or damage.
- Do not connect multiple cameras to a single adapter to prevent overheating or fire.
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in to prevent fire hazards.
- Fasten the camera securely to prevent personal injury from falling.
- Avoid installation in locations with high/low temperatures or high humidity to prevent fire or electric shock.
- Do not place conductive objects or water containers on the camera to avoid injury from fire, electric shock, or falling objects.
- Avoid installation in humid, dusty, or sooty locations.
- Do not install near heat sources like radiators or amplifiers.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat radiation sources.
- If unusual smells or smoke occur, immediately disconnect power and contact a service center.
- Contact a service center for abnormal operation; do not disassemble or modify the product.
- Do not spray water directly onto the product during cleaning.
General Cautions:
- Use proper safety gear during installation and wiring.
- Do not drop objects on or apply strong shock to the product. Keep away from excessive vibration or magnetic interference.
- Do not use the product near water.
- The product should not be exposed to dripping or splashing.
- Avoid aiming the camera directly at extremely bright objects like the sun to prevent image sensor damage.
- The main plug serves as a disconnect device and must remain operable.
- Unplug the product during lightning to prevent fire or damage.
- Do not block ventilation openings; install according to manufacturer instructions.
- A polarized or grounding-type plug is recommended. Consult an electrician if the plug does not fit the outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.
- If laser equipment is used nearby, ensure the sensor surface is not exposed to the laser beam.
- Turn off power before moving or reinstalling an installed product.
- Proper configuration of passwords and security settings is the responsibility of the installer/end-user.
- Use a clean cloth for cleaning. Cover the lens cap when not in use for extended periods.
- Do not touch the camera lens or sensor module with fingers.
- Use only manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories.
- Use compatible hardware for secure mounting.
- Use only with specified carts, stands, tripods, brackets, or tables.
- Unplug the product when using a cart and exercise caution when moving to prevent tip-over injuries.
- Refer all servicing to qualified personnel for any product damage, abnormal operation, or exposure to rain/moisture.
Step 1 – Preparing to Mount the Camera
Use the mounting template or the camera itself to mark and drill holes in the wall or ceiling.
Step 2 – Powering the Camera
Power Requirements: DC12V, PoE (IEEE 802.3af class 2). Adapter not included.
Power Consumption: <5W
Step 3 – Installing the Camera
- Mount the camera to the surface using the included screws and anchors.
- Adjust pan and tilt by loosening the lock screw at the base, then tighten once adjusted.
- Resetting the camera: Press and hold the reset button at the base for five (5) seconds to reset all settings, including network settings.
Step 4 – Cabling
Connect power, network, alarm input/outputs, and audio using the diagram provided. Options include:
- PoE Switch or Injector: Connect data and power with a single Ethernet cable.
- Non-PoE Switch: Connect data via Ethernet cable and power using a power adapter.
Install the waterproof cap if needed. Use outdoor-rated sealer in extreme environments.
Step 5 – Managing the SD Card (Optional)
- Loosen the fixed screw at the camera base to rotate the camera module. Remove the control panel cover to access the SD card slot.
- Insert a Class 10 SD/SDHC/SDXC card (max 256GB) into the slot.
- Press the card inward until it clicks to release it.
Step 6 – DW® IP Finder™
Use the DW® IP Finder™ software to scan the network, detect MEGApix® cameras, configure network settings, or access the camera's web client.
Installation:
- Go to http://www.digital-watchdog.com.
- Search for "DW IP Finder" at the top.
- Navigate to the "Software" tab to download and install.
- Open DW IP Finder and click 'Scan Devices'. The DW® logo turns gray during the scan.
Initial Password Setup:
- Check the box next to the camera(s) in the search results.
- Click "Bulk Password Assign".
- Enter current username/password (admin/admin). Enter a new username and password (minimum 8 characters, with at least 4 combinations of uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters; cannot contain the user ID).
- Click "change" to apply.
Accessing Camera Settings:
- Double-click the camera's name or click 'Click' in the results table.
- The pop-up window shows current network settings. Admin users can adjust as needed. Cameras default to DHCP.
- Click the 'Website' button to access the camera's web page.
- Save changes by entering the admin username/password and clicking 'Apply'.
Network Configuration:
- DHCP: Camera automatically receives an IP address from the DHCP server.
- Static: Manually enter IP address, Subnetmask, Gateway, and DNS information. Static IP is required for Spectrum® IPVMS. Contact your network administrator for details.
External Network Access: Port forwarding must be configured on your network's router.
Note: GUI display may vary by camera model. Some menu options may not be available. Refer to the full manual.
Step 7 – Web Viewer
Access the camera's web interface through your browser.
- Find the camera using DW IP Finder.
- Double-click the camera's view in the results table and press the 'Website' button.
- Enter the username and password set during the DW IP Finder setup. If no new password was set, you will be prompted to create one.
Alternative Access:
- Open a web browser.
- Enter the camera's IP address and port (e.g., http://<ipaddress>:<port>). Port forwarding may be necessary for access from different networks.
- Enter the camera's username and password.

You will be prompted to set a new password upon first login, either via DW® IP Finder™ or the camera's browser menu.
