1. Appearance
Feed/Reset Button: Located on the front-left of the printer.
Release Latch: Located on the right side of the top cover.
Paper Guide: Adjustable guides inside the printer to align the label width.
Roller: Located inside the printer to feed the label.
USB Cable Port: Port for connecting the printer to a computer via USB.
Power Supply Port: Port for connecting the power adapter.
Power Switch: Located on the back of the printer, labeled 'O' for off and 'I' for on.

3. Printer Connection
Note: Ensure the printer is OFF before connecting. Use only the original power adapter. Unplug if not in use for a long time.
- Ensure the printer is off.
- Attach the power cord to the power adapter.
- Connect the power adapter to the printer's power supply port.
- Plug the power cord into a wall socket.
- Connect the USB cable to the printer's USB port.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer.
- Turn the printer power on.
4. The Suitable Label Size
JADENS printers are compatible with Thermal Direct Labels with a width range from 1.57" to 4.1" and a length over 1.18". Ideal for 4"x6" labels.
Label Standard Sizes:
- 4"x6"
- 4"x3"
- 4"x2"
- 3"x2"
5. How to Feed Label
- Ensure the printer is off.
- Pull the release latch to open the printer cover.
- Load the label roll, ensuring the label faces upwards (towards the ceiling). Adjust the paper guide to fit the width of the paper.
- Carefully close the printer cover.
- Turn the power on. The printer will perform automatic label identification, moving the label back and forth to position it at the tear-off point.
Tips: Anytime you change your label, run the automatic label identification by pressing and holding the feed button until you hear one beep.
The label holder is sold separately.

6. Installation for Windows
Note: It is recommended to close security software before installation.
Compatibility: Windows 7 or later.
Installation Guide: A video guide is available on the included U-disk.
Step 1: Install the Driver
a. Connect the printer to your computer and power source (skip if already done).
b. Install the driver: Copy the driver file (e.g., 'Label Printer Driver Setup.exe') from the U-disk to your PC, then run the installer.

Step 2: Add the Bluetooth of Printer (if applicable)
a. Ensure the printer and computer are connected via USB.
b. Navigate to Windows Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or other device.

Step 3: Match the COM Port
a. Go to Bluetooth & other device settings, click 'More Bluetooth options', then 'COM Ports'. Identify the OUTGOING COM port associated with the printer (e.g., COM3) and note it down.
b. Go to 'Printer & scanners', find 'Label Printer(4inch)', click 'Manage', then 'Printer properties', and finally 'Ports'. Select the COM port that matches the one identified in the previous step and click 'OK'.

Note: Ignore any 'Driver is unavailable' messages; they are normal and do not affect printing.
If you cannot find the matching COM port, restart your computer and printer, then reinstall the driver.
Verification:
After setup, check 'Settings' > 'Device' > 'Printer & scanners'. Find 'Label Printer(4inch)', click 'Manage', and print a test page to confirm successful setup.
Note: If printing fails, restart your computer and printer, then reinstall the driver. Avoid installing multiple driver versions.
c. You can now unplug the USB cable. To print, open a PDF file (Adobe Reader recommended), select 'Label Printer(4inch)', and adjust printer preferences (darkness, speed, size) before printing via Bluetooth.
7. Installation for Mac
Compatibility: JADENS printers are compatible with macOS v10.9 or later.
Installation Guide: A video guide is available on the included U-disk.
Step 1: Install the Driver for Mac
a. Connect the printer to power and your Mac.
b. Copy the driver file ('Label Printer-MacOS.pkg') to your desktop and run the installer. You can also download the driver from: ? support.jadens.com/support/download/label-printer-drivers/

Step 2: Add the Printer
e. Open 'System Preferences' and click 'Printer & Scanners'.
f. Click the '+' button to add a new printer.
g. Select 'Thermal Label Printer' from the list and choose the appropriate driver or option (e.g., 'Label Printer').
h. Click 'Add' to complete the printer installation.

Note:
- You can now print directly. For adjusting print density, speed, or other parameters, refer to Section 8: Printer Preference Setting.
- If printing fails, restart your computer and reinstall the driver.
8. Printer Preference Setting
8.1. Printer Preference Setting for Windows
Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Device' > 'Printer & scanners'. Find 'Label Printer', click 'Manage', then 'Printer Preference'. Here you can set page size, print speed, and density.
(1) Setting the Paper Quality
a. Go to 'Page Setup'. Select the page size corresponding to your label. Generally, 4"x6" is used for shipping labels.
(2) Setting Print Speed and Darkness
b. In the 'Page Quality' tab, adjust printing speed and darkness. For density, if labels print light, increase the density setting. For Windows, a density of 8-12 is recommended.
(3) Print a Sample File
a. Open a PDF file (e.g., 4"x6" size) in Adobe Reader. Click 'Print' and ensure 'Label Printer(4inch)' is selected.

b. In the 'properties' or 'Page Setup' dialog, you can set the page size, printing speed, and density.
Note: Ensure the thermal label size loaded matches the device settings.
c. Preview your settings and click 'Print'. For PDF editing, search 'Bartender' at support.jadens.com or contact support.

8.2. Printer Preference Setting for Mac
a. Open a sample PDF file (4"x6" size) and click 'Print'.
b. Click 'Page Setup' to select the desired page size.
Note: Ensure the thermal label size matches the device settings.
If no suitable size is found, click 'Manage Custom Sizes' to input width and height.
c. Click 'Printer Preference' > 'Printer Feature' to adjust 'Darkness' and 'Print Speed'. For Mac, a density of 2-5 is recommended.

10. Important Tips: Print label of multiple size using 'Take a snap shot'
The 'Take a snap shot' function helps solve printing issues by allowing you to print specific areas of a label.
1. How to print your labels with nonstandard size
If your PDF/file is an unusual size (e.g., A4) and you cannot find matching label sizes, use the 'take a snapshot' feature.
(1) For Windows:
a. Open the PDF in Adobe Reader.
b. Select 'Edit' > 'Take a Snapshot' from the top panel, then select the desired area to print.
c. Click 'Print', set the page size to match your loaded labels, and then print.
Note: Ensure the page size matches the label size to avoid misprints or misalignment.
(2) For Mac:
a. Open the PDF file using Adobe Reader.
b. From the top panel, select 'View' > 'Rotate View' > 'Clockwise' to orient labels side-by-side.
c. Select 'Edit' > 'Take a Snapshot'. Click and drag over the specific label area you need to print.
2. Barcode Printing
When printing labels with barcodes, ensure the barcode is printed vertically to prevent scanning issues caused by high temperatures.

12. Pro Tips
- To change label size, run automatic label identification by pressing and holding the feed button until one beep.
- Press the feed button to skip a blank label.
- To run a self-test, press and hold the feed button until two beeps.
- Avoid using poor quality labels, as they can damage the printer.
- Regularly clean the printer head as described in Section 15: Maintenance.
- If paper jams: Turn off the printer, let the print head cool down. Open the cover, check if the rubber roller is clean. If dirty, clean with an alcohol pad and allow to dry completely before turning the printer back on.
13. Driver Removal
For Windows:
Before removing, ensure the USB port is disconnected.
- Go to 'Settings' > 'Device' > 'Printer & Scanners'. Select 'Label Printer' and click 'Remove device'.
- Click 'Print server properties', find the 'Label Printer(4inch)' driver, select 'Remove driver and driver package', and click 'Delete'.
For Mac:
Before removing, ensure the USB port is disconnected.
- Open 'Launchpad' > 'System Preferences' > 'Printer & Scanners'.
- Find 'Thermal Label Printer', click the '-' button, and then click 'Delete Printer'.

16. Safety Tips
- The printer head can become very hot after printing. Do not touch it until it has cooled.
- Do not bend the power cord excessively or place objects on it, as this could cause a fire.
- Keep the printer out of reach of children.
- Use only approved accessories. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the unit yourself.
- Keep the printer away from water and objects that could damage it.
- Unplug the printer when not in use for extended periods.
17. Maintenance: Cleaning the Print Head
The printer head is a sensitive component located on the upper part of the printer when open.
Caution: The printer head can be very hot while the printer is running.
- Ensure the power switch is OFF. Remove the power cord and open the cover. Wait a few moments for the print head to cool down.
- Clean the print head using an alcohol swab (70% Isopropyl Alcohol pad is recommended). Do not use water.
- Wait 2-3 minutes for the alcohol to dry completely, then close the cover.
- Connect the power cord and print a test page to verify cleanliness.
