Tow-Trust Towbars - TVW 616 Fitting Guide

Product Overview
This document provides fitting instructions for the Tow-Trust TVW 616 towbar, compatible with various Audi, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen models.
Compatible Vehicles: Audi A3, Seat Leon, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Bora, Volkswagen Beetle.

General Fitting Instructions
- Remove the light cluster. Remove the rear bumper (torx head screws along the top edge, lower edge and around each wheel arch).
- Remove the steel beam (this is no longer required). Replace the four original bolts back onto the vehicle.
- Locate item B and item C into the open ends of each chassis member, NOTE: ORIENTATION OF SIDE ARMS. Remove the tape covering the existing holes and using item H with item J loosely bolt item B and item C into place.
- Using item F and item K bolt item A to item B and item C.
- Using item G with item K bolt item D to item A.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts and ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
- Cut a small section out of the lower edge of the bumper (see sketch) (AUDI A3 NO CUT REQUIRED).
- Re-fit the bumper and light cluster.
- Using item E bolt the ball bracket and wiring plate (not supplied in this kit) to the mounting plate.
Seat Leon Bumper Removal Specifics
- Remove inner back panel (inside boot) and both rear quarter trims.
- Remove rear bumper. Note: 9 torx screws on the bottom edge, 5 torx screws each side (in-wheel arch), and 4 x 10mm self-tappers from inside boot along back panel.
- Temporarily remove rear exhaust hanger to allow access to bolt hole.
- Remove rear part of rear near side inner wheel arch (2 x torx) to allow access to front mounting bolt.
- Cut out for bumper.
Diagram Descriptions
Towbar Assembly Diagram
The main assembly diagram illustrates the Tow-Trust TVW 616 towbar. It shows the crossmember (A) connecting to the left-hand (B) and right-hand (C) side arms using bolts (F, K). An extension bar (D) attaches to the crossmember (A) with bolts (G, K). The side arms (B, C) are secured to the vehicle chassis using bolts (H, J). The ball mount and wiring plate are attached to the crossmember (A) using bolts (E).
Specific vehicle fitment illustrations show the towbar configuration for Audi A3, Octavia/Beetle/Golf, and Bora/Leon/Toledo models.
Bumper Cut Diagrams
These diagrams detail the required bumper modifications for specific vehicle models:
- Golf & Golf Est: Requires a cut of approximately 60mm high by 80mm deep.
- Bora: Requires a cut of approximately 60mm high by 90mm deep.
- Octavia & Octavia Est: Requires a cut of approximately 60mm high by 50mm deep.
- Toledo: Requires a cut of approximately 270mm.
- Leon: Requires a cut of approximately 110mm.
- Leon Cupra: Requires a cut of approximately 125mm.
Note: The Audi A3 does not require a bumper cut.
Important Notes
- Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9 bolts is 139 Nm. For other torque settings, please refer to additional documentation if provided.
- Always observe the vehicle's nose load limits and the manufacturer's specified trailer or caravan weight limits.
