Product Overview

The smart pet feeder consists of the following parts:

Assembled Products

Step 1: Connecting Power

• Plug the 5V power adapter into the bottom of the feeder.
• Install 3x D Cell Batteries in the bottom of the feeder for backup power.
• Plug in the home power supply.
• The indicator light blinking blue indicates it is waiting for network connection.

Step 2: Meal Splitter Installation

Ensure the entrance of the pet food faces towards the back of the product.

Step 3: Food Tank Installation

Install the food tank as shown. The opening at the bottom of the food tank should align with the opening in the base of the feeder. Turn clockwise to lock.

Step 4: Feeder Base Installation

• Place the stainless steel bowl into the bowl tray.
• Insert the bowl tray into the feeder base.

Step 5: Add Food

• Pour dry food into the feeder. Recommended food size is 5-15mm (0.19-0.59in). Do not use wet or canned food.
• Close the lid. Refer to the provided illustration for opening the feeder lid.

Step 6: Wall Hook Installation

1. Place the wall hook on the wall and mark the holes with a pen. The wall hook should be kept 8-9.5cm (3.15-3.75in) away from the floor.
2. Use an impact drill to drill the holes, using a 1/4" (6mm) diameter drill bit.
3. Use a hammer to tap the plastic wall anchors into the holes, flush with the wall.
4. Tighten screws to secure the wall hook.
5. Align the holes on the back of the feeder with the hooks on the wall hook and slide down.
6. Installation is now completed.

Memory Card Installation

1. Take out the meal splitter from the feeder base.
2. Take out the baffle.
3. Insert a TF card into the slot of the PCB. Note: Only TF cards formatted in FAT32 are supported (up to 128GB).
4. Attach the baffle.

Buttons Explained

Control Panel Overview:

• 1. Recording Button: Used for recording sound.
• 2. WiFi Reset Button: Used to reset the WiFi connection.
• 3. Manual Feeding: Dispenses food manually.
• 4. Indicator Light: Shows the status of the device.

Recording Button Functions:

• Record Sound: Press and hold the Recording Button for 3 seconds. Hear a beep. Speak close to the feeder within 10 seconds. Release the button to stop recording. Keep the button pressed at all times during recording.
• Check Recordings: Press the button to play the recorded sound.
• Clearing Recordings: Press and hold the Recording Button for 3 seconds. Hear a beep. Release the button immediately to clear recordings.

WiFi Reset:

Press and hold the WiFi Reset Button for 5 seconds. Hear a beep. Release the button. Wait for the indicator light to turn blue and blink.

Manual Feeding:

• Short Press: Press once to get a portion of food.
• Long Press: Press and hold to continue dispensing food.

Indicator Light Description:

Note: After the blue light starts flashing, connect your phone to the device within fifteen minutes. If the blue light goes out, re-plug the power supply or press and hold the Wi-Fi reset button for 5 seconds to reset it.

Install the APP and Log In

App Installation

Scan the QR code or search for "Smart Life" in your device's app store to download and install the app.

Sign up and Log In

After opening the app, register for an account if you don't have one, or log in directly if you already have an account.

Add Feeder to APP

Step 1: Turn on phone permissions.

Note: Ensure Bluetooth, WLAN, and GPS are enabled on your phone. Network connection is only possible when plugged in.

Step 2: The feeder is ready to connect to the network

• Turn on the power to the feeder.
• Ensure the indicator light on the feeder is flashing blue.
• Open the Smart Life APP, tap the [+] icon in the upper right corner to add the device.
• Follow the app prompts to operate.

Connection Methods

Method 1: Bluetooth Connection

1. Open the app and select "Add Device" for camera control and alarm functions.
2. The app will search for nearby devices. Click on the "Smart Video Feeder" when found.
3. Enter Wi-Fi information (choose Wi-Fi and enter password).

Method 2: Camera Scanning QR Code Connection

1. Open the app and select "Add Device".
2. Navigate through "Small Home Appliances" to find the "Pet Feeder With Camera (2.4GHz&5GHz)".
3. Scan the QR code from 15 to 20 cm away. Note: The QR code on the phone screen should be at the same height as the camera and at a distance of 6-8 inches. Adjust distance for better recognition.

Method 3: Wi-Fi Mode Connection

1. Select "Wi-Fi Mode" for the QR code connection.
2. Reset the device by pressing and holding the RESET button for 5 seconds until the indicator blinks.
3. Connect your mobile phone to the device's hotspot (e.g., "SmartLife-XXXX" or "SL-XXXX").

APP Function Introduction

General Functions:

• Set up: Change device name, Share Device, IPC PC Client.
• Playback: View past video footage using TF card or cloud storage.
• Screenshot: Capture the current screen; saved in Gallery.
• Private Mode: Set the camera to sleep mode.
• Video: Record video by clicking, and stop by clicking again.
• Voice Calls: Supports One-Way Communication and Two-Way Talk.
• Device Volume: Adjust the feeder's volume.
• Gallery: Save screenshots or recorded videos.

Specific Features:

• Night Mode: Enables Night Vision.
• Record: View feeding history.
• Manual Feeding: Dispense up to 20 portions per click.
• Schedule: Set daily feeding schedules for up to 15 meals. Ensure the date is selected when setting.
• Short Record: Click to start recording sound, click again to stop. Requires proximity to the feeder.

Communication Modes:

• One-Way Communication (Default Mode): Hold the talk button to speak, release to end.
• Two-Way Talk: Click the button to talk, click again to end the call.

IPC Terminal:

Access via browser: https://protect-us.ismartlife.me. Scan the QR code through the Smart Life app to use all functions.

Disassemble for Cleaning

Regular cleaning is recommended for pet health. The washable parts include:

Parts that should not be washed include the main feeder unit and the power adapter.

FAQ

Problem: Can't connect the feeder to WiFi.

1. Ensure Bluetooth, WLAN, and GPS are enabled on your phone during connection. They can be disabled after successful connection.
2. Try connecting using alternative methods.
3. The WiFi network might be unstable; attempt connection multiple times.
4. Connect the device near the router (ideally within 3 meters).
5. Consider switching to a 2.4G network connection.
6. Troubleshoot your router (e.g., reboot it).
7. Contact support via the provided contact form for further assistance.

Problem: The WiFi connection goes off line frequently.

1. Ensure the feeder has a good signal within the WiFi coverage area.
2. Check that the power cord is stably connected.

Problem: The feeder's camera can't read the QR code on your phone.

1. Ensure the indicator light on the feeder is blinking blue.
2. Try connecting using another connection method provided by the APP.
3. Ensure the QR code in the APP and the camera are at the same height and adjust distance as needed.

Problem: Live video not showing.

1. Reconnect the feeder.
2. Ensure the power cord is intact.
3. Switch to a stronger WiFi signal.
4. If the network is poor, change the video quality from HD to SD (standard definition).

Problem: Where are the photos and videos stored?

1. Photos and videos are stored in the Gallery section of the Features function.
