INSTALLATION
[DANGER]
The installer is responsible for installing the field-supplied structure suspension point hardware and for adequately supporting the weight of the heater.
[WARNING]
The heaters are designed so that the tube suspension points can be adjusted slightly to adapt to the structure. Each straight tube must have at least one suspension point. Straight tubes downstream and adjacent to an L-tube or U-tube require two suspension points.
[CAUTION]
A minimum of 12 inches (305 mm)—the total length of chain, S-hook, and/or turnbuckle—is required between the tubes and the structure suspension points.
- Suspend heater in accordance with installation manual provided with heater using S-hooks, chain, and turnbuckles (as necessary) at all suspension points.
- To install turnbuckles:
- Remove right-hand thread eyebolt from turnbuckle (see Figure 1) and install hex nut on eyebolt with nut's teeth away from eye.
- Thread eyebolt back into turnbuckle. DO NOT tighten (lock) hex nut against turnbuckle at this point.
- Level heater and THEN tighten (lock) hex nut against each turnbuckle.
[CAUTION]
DO NOT tighten (lock) the hex nuts against the turnbuckles until the system is leveled. Locking the hex nuts against the turnbuckles is required to prevent the turnbuckles from turning when the system expands.
Diagram description: A diagram illustrating a turnbuckle. It shows a central body with threaded ends. One end has a right-hand thread for an eyebolt, and the other has a left-hand thread. A hex nut is depicted near the eyebolt, with an indication that its teeth should face away from the eyebolt's eye.
