Getting Started
1. Charging the Device
Connect the Avantree Lock to a power source using the provided USB charging cable. The LED indicator will show the charging status.
2. Connecting to Your Audio Source (Transmitter Mode)
Option A: Using 3.5mm Audio Cable
Connect one end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX port on your audio source (e.g., TV, computer) and the other end to the AUX port on the Avantree Lock.
Option B: Using Optical Audio Cable
Connect one end of the optical audio cable to the OPTICAL OUT port on your audio source and the other end to the OPTICAL port on the Avantree Lock. Ensure the protective caps are removed from the cable ends.
3. Connecting to Your Audio Device (Receiver Mode)
Connect one end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX port on your non-Bluetooth speaker or headset and the other end to the AUX port on the Avantree Lock.
4. Pairing with Bluetooth Devices
To Transmit:
- Turn on the Avantree Lock. It will automatically enter pairing mode.
- Turn on your Bluetooth headphones or speaker and put them in pairing mode.
- The Avantree Lock will automatically search for and connect to the nearest Bluetooth device. The LED indicator will change to indicate a successful connection.
To Receive:
- Turn on the Avantree Lock. It will automatically enter pairing mode.
- On your phone or tablet, go to Bluetooth settings and search for "Avantree Lock".
- Select "Avantree Lock" to pair. The LED indicator will change to indicate a successful connection.
Mode Selection
The Avantree Lock can operate in either Transmitter (TX) or Receiver (RX) mode. Use the mode switch on the device to select your desired mode.
- TX Mode: Transmits audio from your TV or other source to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
- RX Mode: Receives audio from your phone or tablet and plays it through your wired speakers or car stereo.
LED Indicators
The LED indicators on the Avantree Lock provide information about its status:
- Solid Blue: Connected in Receiver (RX) mode.
- Flashing Blue: Pairing in Receiver (RX) mode.
- Solid Red: Connected in Transmitter (TX) mode.
- Flashing Red: Pairing in Transmitter (TX) mode.
- Solid Green: Connected with aptX HD.
- Solid Purple: Connected with aptX Low Latency.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound: Ensure the device is properly connected and the volume is turned up on both the source and receiving devices. Check that the correct audio input/output is selected.
- Connection Issues: Make sure both devices are within Bluetooth range and that there are no obstructions. Try resetting both devices and re-pairing.
- Audio Delay (Latency): Ensure both the Avantree Lock and your Bluetooth headphones/speaker support aptX Low Latency for minimal delay.
Important Notes
- The Avantree Lock supports a maximum of two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously in transmitter mode.
- Ensure your audio source is set to output audio in a compatible format (e.g., PCM for optical).
- For optimal performance, keep the device away from sources of interference like Wi-Fi routers or microwaves.
