Maintaining the TurboBrush® Tool
- Twist gray collar counterclockwise until slot appears; separate faceplate and remove brush. Replace belt and brush if needed.
- If paddle wheel is dislodged, align two clips on each side and click into place.
- Faceplate will not close if all parts are not aligned correctly.
Replacing the Brush and Belt
- Unplug vacuum, turn over and unscrew six Phillips-head screws to remove bottom cover.
- Lift brush roll straight out. Inspect belt, replace if it appears damaged.
- If belt is not broken, inspect brush roll by placing it on its end and spinning. Brush roll should spin freely, multiple times with one flick. Replace brush roll if it doesn't spin freely.
- Replace brush roll and belt by looping belt over motor shaft and brush roll. Line up endcaps and pull brush forward into place. Belt will stretch.
- Once brush roll is installed, place bottom cover back on and replace screws.
Clearing a Clog
- Remove hose from back of vacuum by twisting left. Remove any debris.
- Check foot hose on back of vacuum, towards the bottom. If necessary, remove screw from foot hose and check for clogs.
- Check air passageway on the bottom of vacuum. Remove bottom cover and brush. Remove any debris.
Cleaning the Pre-Motor Filter
- Press the tank release button and pull out to remove dirt tank.
- Lift release latch to access filter. Remove foam filter from lid.

- Press the red power button O with your foot to turn the vacuum ON and OFF.
- Press the recline pedal and pull handle back towards you.
- Turn dial on foot to desired height setting. If dial is difficult to turn, tilt the vacuum back slightly to take the weight off the foot while turning.
Tip: For best performance, adjust to the lowest practical setting. If your vacuum is difficult to push, adjust to the next higher setting.
Note: Rotating floor brush continues to rotate while tools are in use. Never place fingers under the vacuum when it is running. Never place powerfoot on furniture or uneven surfaces.
Certain carpets and low humidity conditions may generate small static discharges. Static discharges are entirely harmless and are not associated in any way with the main power supply.
Above Floor Cleaning
Clean hard-to-reach spaces with the Quick Release Extension Wand.
- Push the release button to remove extension wand and attach desired tool.
- Attach desired tool.
Note: For optimal performance, attach the Pet TurboBrush Tool directly to the hose instead of the wand.
Twist hose counter-clockwise to remove from handle, if desired. To do so, twist circular hose cuff counter-clockwise and remove from handle.

We have additional tips for maintaining your machine at support.BISSELL.com.
- Press the tank release button and pull out to remove dirt tank.
- Hold the dirt tank over a trash bin. Press the bottom release button to empty.
