- Ensure the hose sits on the vacuum without any twists.
- Attach tools to tool holders.
Using the Vacuum
For additional support videos and information, visit support.BISSELL.com.
- Gently pull the cord out, stopping at the yellow mark. Do not pull past the red mark.
- Press the red power button [power-symbol] with your foot to turn the vacuum ON and OFF [power-symbol].
- Press the recline pedal and pull the handle back towards you.
- Turn dial on foot to desired height setting. If the dial is difficult to turn, tilt the vacuum back slightly to take the weight off the foot while turning. For best performance, adjust to the lowest practical setting. If your vacuum is difficult to push, adjust to the next higher setting.
- Hold onto the plug and press the automatic cord rewind button [rewind-symbol] until fully retracted. If the cord doesn't fully retract on the first try, pull a little bit of cord out and press the rewind button again.
Note: The rotating floor brush continues to rotate while tools are in use. Never place fingers under the vacuum when it is running. Never place the powerfoot on furniture or uneven surfaces.
Certain carpets and low humidity conditions may generate small static discharges. These are harmless and not associated with the main power supply.
Above Floor Cleaning
Clean hard-to-reach spaces with the Quick Release Extension Wand.
- Push the release button [release-button-symbol] to remove the extension wand and attach the desired tool.
- Attach the desired tool.
- Note: For optimal performance, attach the Pet TurboBrush® Tool directly to the hose instead of the wand.
- Twist the hose counter-clockwise to remove it from the handle, if desired. To do so, twist the circular hose cuff counter-clockwise and remove it from the handle.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts while the vacuum is turned ON, always move the vacuum via the rolling wheels by using the upper handle at the back of the vacuum. Do not carry the vacuum while it is running. Always place the vacuum on the floor with the handle in an upright position when using tools.
Maintaining Your Vacuum
For more helpful maintenance tips, check out support.BISSELL.com.
Maintaining the TurboBrush® Tool
- Twist the gray collar counterclockwise until a slot appears; separate the faceplate and remove the brush. Replace the belt and brush if needed.
- If the paddle wheel is dislodged, align the two clips on each side and click into place.
- The faceplate will not close if all parts are not aligned correctly.
Replacing the Brush and Belt
- Unplug the vacuum, turn it over, and unscrew the six Phillips-head screws to remove the bottom cover.
- Lift the brush roll straight out. Inspect the belt and replace it if it appears damaged.
- If the belt is not broken, inspect the brush roll by placing it on its end and spinning it. The brush roll should spin freely, multiple times with one flick. Replace the brush roll if it doesn't spin freely.
- Replace the brush roll and belt by looping the belt over the motor shaft and brush roll. Line up the end caps and pull the brush forward into place. The belt will stretch.
- Once the brush roll is installed, place the bottom cover back on and replace the screws.
Clearing a Clog
- Remove the hose from the back of the vacuum by twisting left. Remove any debris.
- Check the foot hose on the back of the vacuum, towards the bottom. If necessary, remove the screw from the foot hose and check for clogs.
- Check the air passageway on the bottom of the vacuum. Remove the bottom cover and brush. Remove any debris.

- Twist the cyclone clockwise to reinstall.
- Place the tank back on the vacuum and press firmly until it clicks into place.

- Lift the release latch to access the filter. Remove the foam filter from the lid.
- Hand wash in warm water and rinse well; mild detergent may be used if desired. Let it dry for 24 hours before reinstalling.
- Reinstall the foam filter and close the lid.
- Place the tank back on the vacuum and press firmly until it clicks into place.
