TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

This model is for household use only.

THIS APPLIANCE HAS A POLARIZED PLUG

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Diagram description: Shows the upper handle being pushed down onto the vacuum base, with screws being inserted.

  2. Step 2

Insert the extension wand base into its designated slot and turn it to the right to lock it in place.

  3. Step 3

Insert the hose end into the back of the vacuum cleaner and twist it to the right to lock it in place.

Diagram description: Illustrates the hose end being connected to the rear of the vacuum unit.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the hose up and around the hose wrap located on the handle. Then, slide the end of the hose into the vacuum base.

Diagram description: Shows the hose being wrapped around the handle and then connected to the main body.

  5. Step 5

Diagram description: Shows the Dusting Brush, TurboEraser Tool, and Extension Wand being attached to the vacuum.

NOTE: The PowerFoot will not suction properly unless the hose is firmly attached.

Power ON & Settings

⚠️ WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts while the vacuum is turned ON, always move the vacuum via the rolling wheels by using the upper handle at the back of the vacuum. Do not carry the vacuum while it is running. Always place vacuum on floor with handle in upright position when using tools.

  1. Step 1

Press the red power button with your foot to turn the vacuum ON. Press it again to turn your vacuum OFF.

Diagram description: Shows a foot pressing the power button on the vacuum.

  2. Step 2

Press the recline pedal and pull the handle back towards you to tilt the vacuum for use.

Diagram description: Shows a foot pressing the recline pedal and the handle being pulled back.

  3. Step 3

Turn the dial located on the foot of the vacuum to select the desired cleaning setting. If the dial is difficult to turn, tilt the vacuum back slightly to take the weight off the foot while turning.

    • Lowest setting: For low pile carpet or bare floors. To pick up debris, it may be necessary to move up one setting.
    • Medium setting: For medium pile carpet.
    • Highest setting: For high pile and most shag carpet.

TIP: For optimal carpet cleaning performance, adjust to the lowest practical setting. If your vacuum is difficult to push, adjust to the next higher setting.

Diagram description: Shows a dial with settings labeled 'Lowest', 'Medium', and 'Highest', with corresponding carpet pile types.

Automatic Cord Rewind

  1. Step 1

To plug your vacuum in, gently pull the cord out of the automatic cord rewind. Stop pulling when you reach the yellow mark on the cord. Do not pull past the red mark. Once you have the desired amount of cord, plug it into the outlet.

Diagram description: Shows the power cord being pulled out, with yellow and red marks indicated.

  2. Step 2

When you finish using your vacuum, unplug it from the outlet. Hold onto the plug and press the automatic cord rewind button until the cord is fully retracted. If the cord doesn't fully retract on the first try, pull a little bit of cord out and press the rewind button again.

Diagram description: Shows the plug being held while the rewind button is pressed.

NOTE: Rotating floor brush continues to rotate while tools are in use. Never place fingers under the vacuum when it is running. Never place PowerFoot on furniture or uneven surfaces. Do not place vacuum close enough to objects to pull into rotating brush.

NOTE: Certain carpets and low humidity conditions may generate small static discharges. Static discharges are entirely harmless and are not associated in any way with the main power supply.

Diagram description: Shows the components being reassembled correctly.

Replacing the Brush & Belt

⚠️ WARNING

To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power OFF and disconnect polarized plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.

  1. Step 1

Unplug the vacuum, turn it over, and unscrew the six (6) Phillips-head screws to remove the bottom cover. Lift the brush straight out.

Diagram description: Shows the vacuum upside down, screws being removed, and the brush being lifted out.

  2. Step 2

Clean debris from the brush roll. Inspect it by placing it on its end and spinning. The brush roll should spin freely, multiple times with one flick. If it doesn't, replace the brush roll. Check the belt for wear or cuts and replace if necessary.

Diagram description: Shows cleaning the brush roll and checking its spin, and inspecting the belt.

  3. Step 3

Replace the brush roll and belt by looping the belt over the motor shaft and the brush roll. Line up the endcaps and pull the brush forward into place. This will stretch the belt. Return the bottom cover back on and replace the screws.
