This document provides a quick installation guide for the D-Link DIS-S301SX, a 1000Base-SX Multi-Mode SFP transceiver designed for fiber optic networks.

Quick Installation Guide

Connecting the Transceiver

Plug the DIS-S301SX transceiver into the SFP port of your switch. Connect a fiber cable to the DIS-S301SX transceiver in order to connect your switch to fiber media.

The DIS-S301SX transceiver is hot pluggable. You can connect the transceiver while the system is powered on without causing any issues, and easily plug or unplug the transceiver without interrupting the network operation.

Safety Guidelines and Conditions of Use

Please read this section carefully before installing and connecting the device. Ensure the device and cables are free from mechanical damage. The device should only be used for its intended purpose, in accordance with this quick installation guide. The device is intended for operation in a dry, clean, dust-free, and well-ventilated environment, away from powerful heat sources and high humidity. Do not place foreign objects on the device. The ambient temperature in the immediate vicinity of the device and inside its casing should be between -40 to +85 °C. Power supply must comply with the parameters specified in the device's technical characteristics. Do not open the device casing! Before cleaning the device from dirt and dust, disconnect the power. Remove dust using a damp cloth. Do not use liquid/aerosol cleaners or magnetic/static devices for cleaning. Avoid moisture ingress into the device.

Device service life: 2 years.

The warranty period is calculated from the date of purchase from an official dealer in Russia and CIS countries and is one year. Regardless of the sales date, the warranty period cannot exceed 2 years from the manufacturing date, which is determined by the 6th (year) and 7th (month) digits of the serial number. Year codes: C–2012, D–2013, E–2014, F–2015, G–2016, H–2017, I–2018, J–2019, 0–2020, 1–2021. Month codes: 1–January, 2–February, ..., 9–September, A–October, B–November, C–December.
