1. Product Connection
This section details the physical connections for the VC-TR40. The device can be connected to various peripherals including a computer, display, router/hub, and camera.
Available ports on the VC-TR40 include:
- USB 3.0 Port
- 3G-SDI Output
- Ethernet Port
- RS-232 Output
- HDMI Output
- Audio Input (3.5mm Line In / Mic In)
- RS-232 Input
- DC Input (for 12V power ?)
The connection diagram visually represents how to connect a Computer, Display, Router/Hub, and Camera (Serial) to these ports. For example, a computer can be connected via USB 3.0 for live video transmission, or via Ethernet for network control and streaming. A display can be connected via HDMI or 3G-SDI output.

3. Precautions for Installation
Power Supply: Use the provided DC 12V power cord or a PoE (Power over Ethernet) router or hub to supply power via a network cable. The VC-TR40 supports PoE (IEEE802.3af).
Tracking Distance: The optimal tracking distance range is 4m to 15m, with 8m being ideal.
Vertical Mounting Height: The recommended mounting height is between 2m and 3m, with an optimal height of 2.4m.
Note: For best tracking results, avoid placing images of people on posters or screens behind the subject.
4. View VC-TR40 Images
HDMI/3G-SDI Image Output
Connect an HDMI or SDI cable to output high-definition video. The default resolution for the VC-TR40 is 1920 x 1080 at 30 frames per second.
USB Image Output
Connect the camera to your computer using a USB 3.0 cable. Utilize the Lumens USB PTZ Camera Controller software to view live images and control the VC-TR40. This allows the VC-TR40 to function as a webcam in applications such as Skype, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams for video conferencing.

Network Image Output
Connect the VC-TR40 to a network router using a Cat5e or Cat6 cable to view live video and control the camera via a web browser.
To discover the camera's IP address, use the remote control to open the OSD Menu, navigate to [Network], and check the IP address displayed.
If connecting the camera directly to your computer, the default IP address of the VC-TR40 is 192.168.100.100.
Once the IP address is known (e.g., 192.168.3.68), open a web browser and enter this address in the address bar. You will be prompted to enter a username and password. The default credentials are: Username: admin
, Password: 9999
.
The web interface provides network settings such as DHCP status, IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway. It also offers controls for Live View and System Settings.
5. Start Tracking
Press the corresponding button on the remote control to activate the auto-tracking function. The Power/Standby LED will flash green when the tracking function is active. You can choose either the Auto Tracking or Auto Frame function.
The tracking functions available via the remote control are:
- Auto Tracking: Enable/Disable the auto-tracking feature.
- Full: Frames the presenter's entire body within the camera's view.
- Upper: Frames the speaker's torso.
- Switch: Forces the camera to switch focus to a different presenter.
6. Webpage Settings
Auto Frame
With Auto-Framing technology, the camera automatically detects the position of human bodies. It adjusts the framing to keep the person centered on the screen, adapting to the number of people present in the meeting scene. This feature enhances image quality and meeting efficiency.
Press the Auto Frame button on the remote control to enable or disable this smart viewfinder function. Note that you should choose either the Auto Tracking function or the Auto Frame function.
