ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Integrated circuit breaker: The power cord features an integrated circuit breaker. Test and reset using buttons on the plug case. If the TEST button does not trip the breaker, or the RESET button does not stay engaged, unplug immediately and contact Insignia service.
Consult a qualified electrician if grounding instructions are unclear or if the outlet is not properly grounded.
This air conditioner requires a grounded 115V, 60Hz AC outlet protected by a 15 amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. Installation must comply with national wiring codes.
WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD. Failure to follow these instructions can result in electric shock, fire, or death.
Preferred grounding method: Ensure a proper ground exists before use.
Temporary grounding: If an adapter plug is necessary, use only a UL-listed adapter (min. 120V ~ 60Hz, 13A, 1560W). Align the large slot of the adapter with the large slot in the outlet. Hold the adapter while plugging/unplugging to prevent damage to its ground terminal. Note: Attaching to a cover screw does not guarantee grounding unless the house wiring is properly grounded.
