Features & Specifications
The Lithonia Lighting 2BLT2R is a 2'x2' LED relight fixture designed to retrofit existing fluorescent troffers. It offers advanced features for performance, energy efficiency, and control integration.
Intended Use
Designed for retrofitting nearly any 2'x2' fluorescent lensed or parabolic troffer. Suitable for T-grid mounted recessed units, with optional brackets for drywall or surface mounting. UL rated for use in air-handling troffer housings. Bypasses old fluorescent components for reliable performance and serves as a platform for networked controls. Note: Certain airborne contaminants may affect acrylic integrity.
Construction
Features universal end brackets made of painted steel, designed for secure fit in 2'x2' troffers. The unitized doorframe reflector and electrical chassis requires no field assembly and is finished with high-reflectivity matte white powder coating. Diffuser trim rings provide a finished appearance and mounting points for integral controls. All electrical and mechanical components are accessible from below the ceiling plane.
Optics
Provides volumetric illumination by optimizing light distribution to walls, partitions, and work surfaces for a balanced luminous environment. High-performance extruded acrylic diffusers conceal LEDs and deliver light volumetrically. Available diffuser options include curved and square designs with linear prisms or a smooth frosted finish. An optional lower glare, very low UGR lens is also available.
Electrical
Utilizes long-life LEDs and high-efficiency drivers for superior illumination and extended service life. Achieves greater than 80% LED lumen maintenance at 60,000 hours (L80+ > 60,000) and a calculated L70 lumen maintenance greater than 150,000 hours. Color variation is within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse (35DCM).
Base (Non-Configurable) BLTR
Features a generic 0-10 volt dimming driver, dimming down to 10%.
Configurable BLTR
Offers over 135 LPW across various lumen outputs, CCTs, and driver options. eldoLED driver options provide choice of dimming range and control, ensuring flicker-free operation, low inrush current, 89% efficiency, and low EMI. A step-level dimming option allows for 50% power compliance with energy codes. Optional Field Adjustable Output (FAOE, FAO) devices allow for mechanical adjustment of high-end lumens.
Sensors
Integrated Sensor (Individual Control): Features SensorSwitch MSD7ADCX (PIR) or MSDPDT7ADCX (PIR/Microphonics Dual Tech) integrated occupancy sensor/automatic dimming photocell. This allows the luminaire to power off when the space is unoccupied or when sufficient ambient light is present.
Integrated Sensor (nLight Wired Networking): This sensor is nLight-enabled, communicating over an nLight network via CAT-5 cabling. When linked with other nLight-enabled devices, it forms an nLight control zone, enabling remote status monitoring and control via SensorView software when connected to a Gateway.
Integrated Smart Sensor (nLight Air Wireless Platform): The rES7 sensor is nLight AIR enabled, communicating wirelessly. It includes an automatic dimming photocell and either a digital PIR or microphonics (PDT) dual technology occupancy sensor. It pairs with other luminaires and wall switches via the CLAIRITY™ mobile app for simple sensor adjustment.
Integrated Wireless Sensor (Single Room Control): Features SensorSwitch SSAIR or SSAIR VAPIR luminaire-embedded occupancy and ambient light sensor, allowing the luminaire to power off when unoccupied or when sufficient ambient light is present.
Installation
After removing existing fluorescent components, universal end brackets are secured with TEK™ screws. The integrated driver and light engine door assembly hinges to the brackets and hangs for plug-in wiring. The doorframe assembly closes and secures with cam latches. Suitable for damp location installations (sensor versions are not damp location rated).

Sequence of Operation: Charts illustrate how sensors detect motion and adjust light levels, including time delays for unoccupied periods.
Installation and Compatibility
The 2BLT2R Relight Assembly is designed to upgrade recessed 2'x2' fixtures from most manufacturers.
Bracket Fit Recommendations
Various ceiling types are supported:
- T-grid (9/16" or 15/16"): Standard bracket recommended.
- Narrow Screw-slot Grid: Standard bracket may work; F bracket often suitable.
- Hard Ceiling with "Lay-In" style plaster frame (drywall grid adapter): Standard bracket recommended.
- Hard Ceiling with Integral drywall mounting ('swing gate' housing): F bracket recommended.
- 1x1 hard tile ceiling: F bracket recommended.
- Deep louver riser ("renovator" parabolic): LPB bracket recommended.
Bracket Types Explained
Standard BLTR bracket: Features a T-grid flange for standard installations.
BLTR "F" bracket: Lacks the standard T-grid return flange, making it suitable for many hard ceiling/drywall installations where the standard bracket might be obstructed, and often usable in narrow screw-slot grid ceilings.
LPB 1-piece low profile bracket: Designed for older troffers with endplate obstructions where the standard 2-piece bracket might not fit.
Replacement Parts
Replacement lens assemblies and bracket kits are available separately. For example, 2ft. replacement lens assemblies (trims included) and 2pc end bracket replacement kits (e.g., 2x2 Standard, 2x2 'F' bracket) are listed with specific catalog codes.
Advanced Features
STAR Emergency Lighting
Emergency Lighting with Self-Testing Automated Reporting (STAR) enables automated testing and reporting to aid in life safety code compliance (NFPA 101). It offers two deployment options:
- Mobile STAR: Test data logged in each unit and broadcast to the CLAIRITY™+ app. Suitable for small-scale applications.
- Connected STAR: Test data logged in the STAR Gateway by IOTA® and emailed directly. Suitable for large-scale applications.
STAR solutions eliminate the need for manual record-keeping and ladders for testing.
Constant Lumen Management (CLM)
Enabled by nLight controls, CLM actively tracks run-time and manages the light source to maintain constant lumen output over the system's life. This feature eliminates energy waste from traditional over-lighting practices, saving energy and ensuring consistent light levels.
Diagram Description: Two graphs illustrate the difference: "Without Lumen Management" shows wasted energy and inconsistent light output over time. "With Lumen Management" shows saved energy and consistent light output over time.
A+ Capable Luminaire
This luminaire is A+ capable, designed and tested for consistent color appearance and out-of-the-box control compatibility with Acuity Brands controls products. All configurations meet Acuity Brands' specifications for chromatic consistency, including color rendering, fidelity, and color temperature tolerance.
