Mounting
Mounting Hints
⚠️ Installation must comply with applicable regulations. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in property damage and/or personal injury.
- Check the contents of the delivery for completeness. Install only flawless parts.
- Observe the installation location guidelines.
- During installation, pay attention to the direction of motion (side detection).
- For more information, visit the online FAQs: www.bosch-smarthome.com/faq
Installation Location Guidelines
- The mounting height can be chosen freely between a minimum of 2.20 m and a maximum of 2.70 m.
- The product's detection range is 90° and 12 meters.
- Under-crawl protection can also be activated.
Diagram: Shows a person walking through a detection cone (90°, 12m) at a height of 2.20m to 2.70m.
- Ensure no windows are within the motion detector's detection range.
- Avoid direct or indirect sunlight within the detection range.
- Do not obstruct the detection range with objects.
- Do not install the motion detector near rotating objects (e.g., fans) or self-moving objects.
- Do not install the motion detector near heat or cold sources.
- Ensure there are no objects within the detection range that pets can climb on.
- Place the motion detector in the area of the room most frequently passed by people (e.g., near a door).
- Before mounting, perform a communication test using the app to check signal strength.
- Ensure the connection to the Bosch Smart Home Controller is sufficiently strong (a communication test can be performed via the app).
Mounting Type Selection
ℹ️ The device's anti-theft protection is only guaranteed when installed with screws.
The motion detector can be mounted in a corner or on a flat wall. In both cases, you can choose between screw or adhesive mounting.
If the motion detector is forcibly removed, the anti-theft mechanism remains on the wall and sends a signal.

Hold the bracket at the desired location on the wall and mark the drill holes.
⚠️ When selecting the mounting location and drilling, be mindful of the path of electrical lines or existing supply lines.

Corner Mounting with Adhesive Strips
ℹ️ If mounting with adhesive strips, anti-theft protection cannot be guaranteed.

Selecting Pet Detection or Under-Crawl Protection
Adjust the desired sensitivity level on the motion detector. You can choose between pet detection or under-crawl protection. The default setting is pet detection: the rotary switch on the back of the housing is turned to the left. For under-crawl protection, turn the rotary switch to the right.
Diagram: Shows the rotary switch and the two detection modes with icons of a dog/cat and a person.
With pet detection active, small pets (under 25 kg) are detected and ignored by the front sensor of the motion detector. The downward-facing sensor is then deactivated. Under-crawl protection is inactive when pet detection is active.
If pet detection is switched off, under-crawl protection is activated. This also detects people located directly below the motion detector. There may be a risk of false alarms with pets.
Inserting Motion Detector into Bracket
Diagram: Shows inserting the detector into the bracket until it clicks.
Insert the motion detector from the bottom into the bracket until it audibly clicks into place.
Device: Bosch logo visible on the detector.
Function Test
The product's functionality must be checked after installation. Start the function test via the app. Walk through the room to test the detection range. The motion detector will blink red with every detected movement.
ℹ️ When walking through, pay attention to the most likely path an unauthorized person would take.

Radio Interference and Disposal
Radio Interference
Radio interference cannot be ruled out (e.g., due to electric motors or faulty electrical appliances). The radio range within buildings can differ significantly from the radio range in open fields. In addition to transmit power and receiver sensitivity, environmental factors such as humidity or structural conditions can also influence radio operation.
Environmental Protection and Disposal
Used electrical or electronic equipment, as well as defective or used batteries, must be collected separately and sent for environmentally sound recycling (European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Use country-specific return and collection systems for the disposal of electrical or electronic equipment and batteries.
