Connecting the MagniFi One to Your TV

For optimal performance, position your MagniFi One soundbar:

  • Directly below the TV, in front of the TV base.
  • On the wall, directly above or below the wall-mounted TV. Use the included template and a level to ensure a straight installation. When mounting on drywall, ensure appropriate anchors are used.

The MagniFi One soundbar accepts audio inputs from three wired sources (Optical, AUX, and USB) and one Bluetooth source.

The simplest audio connection also offers the highest audio quality. Use the included Toslink optical audio connector to connect your TV's optical audio output to the optical audio input on the rear panel of the MagniFi One soundbar. If your TV does not have an optical audio output, you can use the optical connection from a DVD or Blu-Ray player, or your cable/satellite set-top box.

Connection Diagram Description: The rear panel of the soundbar features ports labeled 'OPT IN', 'AUX IN', and 'SUB SYNC'. The optical connection involves plugging the provided optical cable into the TV's 'OPTICAL OUT' and the soundbar's 'OPT IN'.

Connecting and Controlling the Subwoofer

Wireless Subwoofer Connection

The MagniFi One's wireless subwoofer is designed for easy setup. It automatically receives the wireless signal from the soundbar. You can place the subwoofer anywhere in the room (within approximately 9 meters / 30 feet of the soundbar), even inside an entertainment cabinet, as long as it has access to a power outlet. For ideal bass response, position the subwoofer at the front of the room, to the left or right of the soundbar.

To connect the wireless subwoofer to the MagniFi One system, simply plug the subwoofer into the nearest power outlet. It will power on automatically.

Troubleshooting Wireless Connection

If the wireless subwoofer stops receiving an audio signal, follow these steps to re-establish the connection:

  1. Unplug the subwoofer's power cord.
  2. Press and hold the 'SYNC' button on the rear of the MagniFi One soundbar for three seconds.
  3. The green LED next to the SYNC button on the soundbar will begin to flash rapidly (3 pulses per second) to indicate that the soundbar and subwoofer are ready to pair.
  4. Plug the subwoofer's power cord back into the power outlet. It will power on automatically. When the subwoofer's green LED lights up solid, the soundbar and subwoofer are connected and ready to operate.

Subwoofer Status Light Codes

  • a. Off: The subwoofer is powered off.
  • b. Flashing Green: The subwoofer is searching for the soundbar.
  • c. Solid Green: The subwoofer is connected to the soundbar.
  • d. Solid Red: The subwoofer is not connected to the soundbar.
  • e. Flashing Red: The subwoofer is in protected mode.

VoiceAdjust™ Technology

VoiceAdjust technology is easy to use. Use the Voice control button on the remote, or press the Voice button on the soundbar's front panel. Increase or decrease dialogue/vocal volume without affecting the master volume of the audio material. VoiceAdjust technology enhances details in low-quality or "low-volume" audio material, adding presence to dialogue and sound without needing to raise the master volume.

SmartBar™ IR Learning

Configure Your TV's Infrared Remote for SmartBar™ Learning

To control your soundbar with your TV remote, you must first program the soundbar to respond to your TV's infrared (IR) remote commands. Radio frequency (RF) remotes cannot be used for this. Other remotes (cable/satellite TV) will only function after programming the soundbar to respond to the TV's IR remote.

Note: If learning fails, the first and third LEDs, followed by the second and fourth LEDs, will flash in pairs three times. The soundbar exits learning mode after multiple unsuccessful IR remote learning attempts. Repeat the operations carefully.

Programming Instructions

Your soundbar is programmed to respond to the included remote. However, it is highly recommended to program the soundbar to also respond to your home TV remote using the procedure below. This allows you to operate all your home system components with a single remote.

During soundbar programming, ignore any text that may appear on the TV screen.

Example: Learning the Volume Up Command
  1. Ensure the soundbar is powered on, the white LED is dimming, and audio is outputting from the soundbar.
  2. Press and hold the 'SOURCE/LEARN' button for 3 seconds. LEDs 1-4 on the soundbar will flash in ascending order.
  3. Press the Volume Up button on the MagniFi One once.
  4. Hold the TV remote 6 inches to 1 foot (15-30 cm) from the front of the soundbar.
  5. Press the TV remote's Volume Up button once.
  6. The learning LEDs will light up solid; the command has been learned. Two audible beeps confirm successful command learning.

Repeat operations 1-6 to program the Volume Down [-], Source, Mute, and Power buttons.

Saving IR Commands

Once all your TV remote commands are programmed, press and hold the Source button for 3 seconds to initialize the learning function. This saves all commands.

Clearing Learned Codes

If your soundbar was programmed to respond to a remote but you no longer want this functionality, clear the codes by pressing and holding the SOURCE button for approximately 10 seconds while in standby mode. The first LED will flash green, then white. This sequence will repeat three times, indicating that previously programmed codes have been cleared.

Note: This procedure clears ALL programmed remote commands for the soundbar. To modify specific button programming, repeat the six-step sequence described earlier to re-establish any previous programming. The soundbar will continue to respond to its own remote.

Bluetooth Function

Bluetooth technology allows easy access to your digital music library from any smartphone or Bluetooth device. Select Bluetooth as the source by pressing the Bluetooth button on the MagniFi One's front panel or the remote control. Selecting Bluetooth as the source initiates the following sequence until connection is complete:

  1. Three white LEDs will flash.
  2. The speaker searches for the last connected Bluetooth device, or
  3. The speaker enters "discovery mode" and is available for pairing and/or connecting to any Bluetooth device. (After 10 minutes, the system enters standby mode.)

Regardless of the active source (other than Bluetooth), the speaker will remain in discovery mode, ready to connect to previously paired devices as long as the system is powered on.

Note: By pairing/selecting Bluetooth from a Bluetooth device, the speakers will switch to the Bluetooth source even if another source (USB, AUX) was selected.

Note: The last connected Bluetooth device will reconnect as soon as Bluetooth is selected.

Each time a Bluetooth device connects, the three white LEDs light up solid, then dim, accompanied by a descending audible tone.

The soundbar disconnects and enters "discovery mode" for 10 minutes under the following conditions:

  • The BT button is pressed once.
  • The Bluetooth source device disconnects.

When Disconnecting Bluetooth:

  • When the speaker disconnects, you will hear a tone with gradually decreasing volume.
  • When the speaker disconnects, the LED will illuminate for two seconds, stay solid for two seconds, then dim for two seconds, repeating this sequence.
  • Pressing the Source button on the speaker switches to the Aux/Analog source.
  • When the speaker reactivates from standby mode, and is in Bluetooth source mode, but the Bluetooth device is disconnected, the speaker enters discovery mode.

The Soundbar Does Not Turn On

  • Ensure the power cord is plugged into a working outlet.
  • Verify that all power supply components are correctly connected.
  • Confirm that power is reaching the soundbar's power input.

No Audio from the Soundbar

  • Check that a signal is being received from the TV or cable set-top box. (If necessary, test with another source.)
  • Verify that the soundbar is receiving power and is turned on.
  • Increase the soundbar's volume.
  • Check input cables to ensure they are securely connected.
  • Increase the volume of the TV or cable set-top box.
  • Check if mute mode is active: is the soundbar's status light blinking slowly? If so, press the Mute button on the soundbar.

Sound from the Soundbar is Distorted

  • Try lowering the volume of your audio source, if possible.
  • There may be AUDIO PROCESSING occurring before the signal reaches the soundbar. Disable this processing at the source.

The Included Remote Control Does Not Work

  • Ensure the protective plastic tab has been removed from the battery.
  • Replace the battery (CR2032).

The Soundbar Cannot Learn Home Remote Commands

  • Carefully follow the programming instructions on the previous page of this manual.
  • Hold the remote steady and at a distance of 1 to 2 feet (30-60 cm) from the front of the soundbar.
  • Tap the home remote's button quickly until the status LED flashes green. The soundbar can learn almost all IR (infrared) remote commands, but some IR protocols cannot be programmed.
