Introduction

Experience a new dimension in TV sound with the Polk MagniFi One Compact Sound Bar System. This system replaces the small speakers built into your flat panel TV and eliminates the wire clutter associated with home theater audio systems. The MagniFi One installs in minutes, connects wirelessly, and delivers a wide and enveloping soundstage, upgrading your TV shows, music, movies, and games.

Key Features:

Getting Started

Unpacking Your MagniFi One

Unpack components carefully, removing the subwoofer and sound bar in the order indicated on the carton instructions. Save all cartons and packing materials for future use.

What's In the Box

Connecting the MagniFi One to Your TV

For optimal performance, mount your MagniFi One Sound bar:

The MagniFi One sound bar accepts audio input from two separate wired inputs (Optical, Aux) and one wireless source (Bluetooth).

Connecting via Optical Cable

Use the included Toslink Optical Audio Connector to connect the Optical Audio output of your TV to the Optical Audio input on the rear panel of the MagniFi One sound bar. If your TV lacks an Optical Audio output, you can use this connection with your DVD or Blu-Ray player or Cable/Satellite box.

Connecting via Analog Stereo Cable

Use the included Analog Stereo Cable to connect your TV to your MagniFi One sound bar. Connect the red/white RCA Audio connections to the corresponding red/white audio outputs on your TV, and connect the 3.5mm connector to the corresponding input on the rear panel of the MagniFi One sound bar.

Connecting Your Wireless Subwoofer

The included MagniFi One wireless subwoofer is engineered for easy setup. It will automatically receive its wireless signal from the sound bar. Place the subwoofer anywhere in your room (within 30 feet of the sound bar) with access to an AC outlet. Optimal blending is achieved when the subwoofer is placed at the front of your room, to the left or right of the sound bar.

To connect, simply plug the subwoofer into a nearby AC outlet. It will turn on automatically.

Re-establishing Subwoofer Connection

If the wireless subwoofer stops receiving an audio signal:

  1. Unplug the subwoofer.
  2. Press and hold the SYNC button on the back of the MagniFi One sound bar for three seconds. The LED next to the SYNC button will blink green rapidly.
  3. Plug the subwoofer back into the AC outlet. It will turn on automatically. When the subwoofer LED turns solid green, the bar and subwoofer are re-connected.

VoiceAdjust™ Technology

VoiceAdjust Technology allows you to control and increase or decrease the volume of dialogue/voice reproduction without affecting the overall master volume. This enhances details in "low volume" or poorly mixed audio material to boost dialogue, allowing for lower overall master volume levels.

Use the VoiceAdjust control buttons on the remote, or press the VoiceAdjust button on the front panel of the sound bar.

SOURCE/LEARN: Press and hold the Source button for three seconds to initiate learning mode. The far right LED on the sound bar turns blue when processing Dolby Digital.

SmartBar IR Remote Learning

Setting Up Your TV's IR Remote Control

To enable your sound bar to respond to your TV's original remote control, you must program the bar to respond to your television's original IR (Infra-Red) remote. RF remotes or other types (cable, satellite) will only work after the TV's IR remote has been programmed.

Programming Instructions:

  1. Enter Learn mode by pressing and holding the Source button for 3 seconds.
  2. Press the Volume Up button on the MagniFi One.
  3. Hold your TV's original remote 6 inches to 1 foot from the front of the sound bar.
  4. Press the corresponding function on the remote repeatedly as the four LEDs will flash white and fade to indicate a successful learned command.

Teaching Example (Volume Up):

  1. Ensure the Sound Bar is on and the LED is dim white.
  2. Press and hold the "SOURCE/LEARN" button for 3 seconds. LEDs 1-4 will pulse in ascending order.
  3. Press and release the “Volume Up” button on the MagniFi One.
  4. Hold your TV's original remote 6 inches to one foot from the front of the sound bar.
  5. Press the "Volume Up" button on your TV's IR remote control once.
  6. LEARN LEDs turn solid; the command has been learned. Two chimes confirm the command has been learned.

Repeat steps 1-6 to program “Volume Down” (–), Source, Mute, and Power buttons.

Saving Your TV's IR Remote Commands

After programming all commands, hold down the Source button for 3 seconds to save them.

Note: If the sound bar fails to learn certain IR remote codes, the first and third LEDs, followed by the second and fourth LEDs, will flash in pairs three times. Try erasing previously programmed codes and repeat the steps.

Code Erasing Procedure

To erase programmed codes, press the SOURCE key for about 10 seconds while the unit is in standby mode. The first LED will flash green and then white, repeating three times. This indicates that previously learned codes have been successfully erased.

Note: This procedure erases ALL remote control programming. To change specific button programming, redo the steps for those buttons. The sound bar will always respond to its included remote control.

Bluetooth Operation

Bluetooth technology allows easy access to your digital audio library from any smart phone or Bluetooth device. Select Bluetooth as the source by pressing the Bluetooth button on the MagniFi One or the remote control.

Connection Sequence:

  1. Three white LEDs will flash.
  2. The speaker attempts to connect to the last connected Bluetooth device.
  3. If no connection is made, the speaker enters “discovery mode” for pairing. (System enters standby mode after 10 minutes of inactivity.)

Note: The speaker will always be in discovery mode and ready to connect to previously paired devices, even if another source is active.

When Bluetooth is connected, three white LEDs will shine solidly, then dim, and an ascending tone will sound.

The sound bar will disconnect and enter “discovery mode” for 10 minutes if:
