Connecting MagniFi One to Your TV
For optimal sound quality, Polk recommends placing the MagniFi One soundbar:
- Directly below the TV, in front of the TV stand.
- On the wall, directly above or below the wall-mounted TV.
Use the mounting template and a level for accurate and neat installation. If mounting to drywall, use anchors.
The MagniFi One soundbar can receive audio input from two separately connected inputs (Optical, Aux) and from a wireless source (Bluetooth).
For the highest quality sound, connect your TV's Optical Audio output to the Optical Audio input on the rear panel of the MagniFi One using the included Toslink Optical Audio Connector cable. If your TV does not have an Optical Audio output, connect a DVD, Blu-Ray player, or cable/satellite set-top box using an optical connection.
OPT IN: Included optical cable
Optical output: TV OPT OUT
Alternatively, use the included analog stereo cable to connect your TV to the MagniFi One. Connect the red/white RCA audio connectors to the corresponding red/white audio output jacks on your TV, and connect the 3.5 mm plug to the corresponding input on the rear panel of the MagniFi One.

Wireless Subwoofer Connection
The MagniFi One wireless subwoofer is designed for simple setup. It automatically receives the wireless signal from the soundbar. Place the subwoofer anywhere in your room (within 10 meters of the soundbar) near a power outlet. It can even be placed inside a cabinet.
For optimal sound, position the subwoofer in the front of the room, to the left or right of the soundbar.
To connect the wireless subwoofer, simply plug it into the nearest power outlet. It will power on automatically.
If your wireless subwoofer stops receiving the audio signal, follow these steps to restore the connection:
- Unplug the subwoofer.
- Press and hold the SYNC button on the rear panel of the MagniFi One soundbar for three seconds.
- The LED indicator near the SYNC button on the soundbar will blink green rapidly (3 times per second) indicating the soundbar is ready to connect.
- Plug the subwoofer back in. It will power on automatically. If the subwoofer's indicator light is solid green, the soundbar and subwoofer are connected, and setup is complete.

Increase or decrease the volume of dialogue/voices without affecting the overall volume of the playback material. VoiceAdjust enhances detail at low volume levels or with poorly mixed audio signals for clearer dialogue.

SmartBar™ Remote Control Learning
To have the soundbar respond to your TV remote, you must first program the soundbar to work with your original IR remote control. RF remotes will not work. Other remotes (from cable or satellite boxes) will only work if you program the soundbar to respond to the TV's IR remote commands.
Note: If the IR remote learning procedure fails, the first and third LEDs will blink alternately with the second and fourth LEDs. The soundbar will exit learning mode after several failed attempts. Repeat the steps carefully.
Enter learning mode by pressing and holding the Source button for 3 seconds.
Example Learning: To teach the soundbar the "Volume Up" command from your remote:
- Turn on the soundbar. The LED indicator will glow white, then you will hear a sound.
- Press and hold the "SOURCE/LEARN" button for 3 seconds. LEDs 1-4 on the soundbar panel will blink in reverse order.
- Press and release the "Volume Up" button on the MagniFi One panel.
- Position your TV remote 15-30 cm from the front panel of the soundbar.
- Press the "Volume Up" button on your TV remote once. The LEARN LEDs will glow continuously; the command has been learned. Two beeps will confirm the command has been memorized.
Repeat steps 1-6 to program commands for Volume Down, Source Selection, Mute, and Power Off.
Note: Saving TV Remote Commands: After programming all commands from your TV remote, press and hold the Source button for 3 seconds to activate the learning function. This saves all commands.
Note: If the IR remote learning procedure fails, the first and third LEDs will blink alternately with the second and fourth LEDs. Try clearing previously programmed codes (see below) and repeat the steps 1-6.
Deleting Codes Procedure: If you have programmed the soundbar to work with a remote but no longer wish to use it, you can erase unnecessary codes by pressing and holding the SOURCE button for 10 seconds while the unit is in standby mode. The first LED will blink green, then white. This sequence will repeat three times, after which the previously learned codes will be successfully deleted.
Note: This procedure will delete all learned commands from the soundbar's remote. If you only wish to change specific programmed buttons, follow the six-step process described earlier to cancel individual programming. The soundbar will then only respond to the included remote control.
Bluetooth Operation
Bluetooth technology provides easy access to your digital music library from any smartphone or Bluetooth device. Select Bluetooth as the source by pressing the Bluetooth button on the MagniFi One front panel or remote. After selecting Bluetooth as the source, the following will occur:
- Three white LEDs will blink.
- The system will attempt to connect to the last Bluetooth device, or
- The system will enter discovery mode and be ready for pairing/connection to any Bluetooth device. (The system will enter standby after 10 minutes.)
Regardless of the active source (other than Bluetooth), the system will always be in discovery mode and ready to connect to the last paired device when powered on.
Note: When pairing/selecting Bluetooth on a Bluetooth device, the system will switch to the Bluetooth source, even if another source (USB, AUX) was previously selected.
If the Bluetooth device is disconnected:
- Upon disconnection, you will hear a tone (with a descending pitch).
- The LED indicator will flash for two seconds, then glow brightly for two seconds, then dim for two seconds. This sequence will repeat once more.
- Pressing the source button on the system will switch the source to Aux/Analog.
- After the device exits standby and switches to Bluetooth mode with a disconnected Bluetooth device, the system will enter discovery mode.
To connect to a Bluetooth device:
- When selecting the Bluetooth signal source, the connection will be made to the last selected Bluetooth source device.
- Each time a Bluetooth device connects, three white LEDs will glow continuously, then dim, and you will hear a tone.
The soundbar will disconnect and enter "discovery" mode for 10 minutes if:
- The BT button was pressed and released.
- The Bluetooth device was disconnected.
