WARNING: Failure to follow instructions could result in serious injury or death. Ensure latches are secure. Always provide necessary supervision. Never leave child unattended when used for play.
SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Infants have suffocated:
- In gaps between a mattress and product sides (too small or too thick).
- On soft bedding.
- NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding.
- Use ONLY the mattress provided by Baby Trend®.
- The playard mattress/pad is designed to prevent suffocation, with a solid base, specific dimensions, and less than one inch thickness to meet safety standards. Using a thicker or different sized mattress/pad may allow a child's head to get trapped, causing suffocation.
- To reduce the risk of SIDS, place healthy infants on their back to sleep, unless advised otherwise by a physician.
- ALWAYS place child on back to sleep.
- NEVER use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers; they can cause suffocation.
- NEVER use a water mattress.
STRANGULATION HAZARD:
NEVER LEAVE INFANT IN PRODUCT WITH SIDES DOWN. Infant may roll into space between pad and loose mesh side, causing suffocation.
- Strings can cause strangulation! NEVER place items with strings (hood strings, pacifier cords) around a child's neck. NEVER suspend strings over the playard or attach strings to toys.
- NEVER place the product near a window where blind/drape cords can strangle a child.
- Child can become entrapped and die if improvised netting or covers are placed on top of a playard. Never add such items.
General Playard Safety:
- ALWAYS ensure the full-size bassinet is fully assembled on the playard before using accessories like the changing table or napper.
- NEVER leave child in product with sides lowered. Ensure sides are raised and locked.

- When child can pull to standing, remove bumper pads, large toys, or other items that could serve as steps.
- ALWAYS ensure the playard, changing table, and napper are safe by regularly checking that all parts are properly secured.
- NEVER leave the full-size bassinet, changing table, or napper in place when a child is in the playard. Only one child can use the playard/accessories at a time.
- NEVER use if any fasteners are loose or missing, joints are loose, parts are broken, or mesh/fabric is torn. Check before and during use. Contact Baby Trend® Customer Service for replacement parts or instructions. NEVER substitute parts.

Assembly Instructions
IMPORTANT! To ensure safe operation, follow these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
IMPORTANT! Before assembly and each use, inspect for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges. NEVER use if any parts are missing or broken.
IMPORTANT! Adult assembly is required. Keep child away during unpacking and assembly.
To Assemble Playard
- Unzip the carry bag and remove the Playard frame (Fig. 1). Undo the fasten straps and set the mattress aside. Do not push the center down yet.
- Erect the top rails: Pull up one rail at a time, holding each side. Pull sharply upwards, not from the center where the latch release is. Ensure both tubes latch securely and the rail is rigid (Fig. 2). IMPORTANT: The center mechanism must be raised while locking the rails. If one rail locks but the other does not, unlock the rail by squeezing the release in the center and try again.
- Once all four top rails are locked, push down on the center handle (Fig. 3a). The center mechanism will automatically lock. IMPORTANT: Test each top rail by pushing down slightly to confirm it is rigid and securely in place before use (Fig. 3b). IMPORTANT: The center handle MUST remain raised (approx. 45.7 cm / 18 inches) while locking the side rails. If the center is not raised, the rails will not lock. If you have difficulty, unlock and try again.
- Place the Mattress on the playard floor with the padded side facing up (Fig. 4).
- Insert the hook & loop fasteners from the underside of the Mattress through the slots in the playard floor. Fasten them to the underside to prevent the Mattress from moving (Fig. 5a, 5b).
- To operate the wheel brakes, press down on the brake levers. To release, lift the lever upwards (Fig. 6).
Folding the Playard
- Release the hook and loop fastener holding the Mattress from underneath the playard floor or bassinet. Set the mattress aside. Do not unlock top rails yet; the center of the floor must be raised first.
- Rotate the center handle counter-clockwise 90 degrees and raise it as high as the top rails (Fig. 7). Gather the legs and wheels towards the center, close enough to nearly touch.
- Locate the rail latch release in the center and bottom of each rail. Squeeze the lever with two hands until the rail releases the two tubes (Fig. 8a), then push down (Fig. 8b). NOTE: If top rails do not release completely, DO NOT FORCE. Lift the center of the floor higher. Both tubes must be released for the top rail to fold.
- Gather the four corners and center them tightly (Fig. 9). Wrap the Mattress around the playard frame with the padded side facing inward.
- Secure the hook and loop fasteners by feeding them through the loops on the mattress end and folding them back onto themselves (Fig. 10). Place the folded playard into the carry bag, ensuring the handle aligns with the zipper opening.
Folding the Napper:
WARNING: Take precautions during folding/unfolding to avoid pinching fingers.
CAUTION: Do not allow children near while folding and unfolding.
ATTENTION: Always fold to store the Napper when not in use.
Remove the Napper from the Playard and store away (Fig. 27). To fold, reverse the assembly steps for the Napper.
