Component List

Installation - Intel LGA 1700/1200/115X

Preparation

Ensure you have the necessary components for Intel LGA 1700/1200/115X sockets.

Installing the Backplate

Step 1: Adjust the sliders on the Intel backplate (D) to the innermost positions for Socket 1200/115X or the outermost positions for Socket 1700.

Diagram illustrating the Intel backplate (D) with sliders, showing the adjustment for Socket 1200/115X and Socket 1700.

Step 2: Install the Intel backplate (D) on the rear of the motherboard, ensuring the sliders align with mounting holes and the CPU socket backplate fits within the backplate's cut-out.

Installing the Standoffs

Step 3: From the front of the motherboard, install the four Socket 1200/115X/1700 standoffs (E or F).

Changing the Retention Bracket

This section details how to switch between Intel and AMD retention brackets if needed, though the primary Intel installation uses the pre-installed bracket (B).

Diagram illustrating the process of changing the retention bracket, with steps numbered 1-4.

Installing the Pump

Step 4: Place the pump with the retention bracket (B) onto the CPU. Ensure the standoffs (E or F) go through the holes on the bracket and securely apply the thumbscrews (L).

The pump cap has a rotatable upper cap with 12 locking points for NZXT logo orientation. Depending on your motherboard layout, you can orient the pump's tube direction as needed.

Installation - AMD AM4/AM5/TR4/STRX4

Preparation

Ensure you have the necessary components for AMD sockets.

Installing the Pump - AMD AM5, AM4, TR4, STRX4

Step 1: Remove the stock AMD mounting bracket and keep the original backplate on the rear of the motherboard. (Note: For Socket TR4, skip to AMD - Step 4).

Step 2: From the front of the motherboard, install the four AMD sleeves (H). Ensure you use the correct orientation based on the socket name facing upwards.

Step 3: From the front of the motherboard, install the four AMD standoffs (G).

Step 4: Mount the pump with the appropriate retention bracket (C) onto the CPU. For AMD AM4/AM5, use thumbscrews (L) to secure the pump to the standoffs (G). For Socket TR4, use the specific screws provided with the Threadripper CPU retail box and align them carefully.

Diagrams showing the pump installation for AMD sockets. One shows mounting on AM4/AM5 with thumbscrews (L) and standoffs (G). Another shows mounting on TR4, highlighting the alignment of screws with short and long sides of the mounting holes.

For Socket TR4, install the AMD Socket TR4 retention bracket (included in the Threadripper CPU retail box). Mount the pump with the retention bracket onto the CPU. The Socket TR4 screw holes have a short and long side. Ensure the four screws are aligned and tighten them in sequence from 1 through 4.

Mounting the Radiator and Fans

Depending on your radiator mounting setup, use the appropriate screws to mount the radiators.

Note: Always use washers (K) to prevent damage.

Direct Mounting

For mounting where the radiator fits directly onto the case, install the fan(s) (P) first using 30mm fan screws (I) and washers (K). Then, use 5mm case screws (J) and washers (K) to mount the radiator to the case.

Indirect Mounting

For mounting where the fan(s) (P) fit between the radiator and chassis, use the 30mm fan screws (I) and washers (K) for mounting the fans to the radiator.

Connections

Connecting the Pump Tach

Connect the 3-pin connector from the breakout cable set (M) to the motherboard's 4-pin CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP header.

Note: You may need to disable fan-fail warning within the motherboard BIOS if CPU_FAN is unused.

Connecting the SATA Power Cable

Connect the SATA power cable from the power supply unit to the pump's power connector (part of the breakout cable set M).

Powering the Fans

You may use the included fan splitter (O) to connect the fans (P) to your motherboard or a fan controller (not included). Refer to the fan controller manufacturer's documentation for specific power requirements.
