Preparation
2.1 Preparation - Intel LGA 1700 & 1200 / 115X
STEP 1 - BACKPLATE PREPARATION
Move the four movable elements of the Intel backplate inwards for socket 1200 / 115X or outwards for socket 1700.
- SOCKET 1200/115X: The movable elements should be positioned inwards.
- SOCKET 1700: The movable elements should be positioned outwards.
STEP 2 - BACKPLATE INSTALLATION
Install the Intel backplate on the rear of the motherboard as shown. Ensure the movable elements are properly seated in the motherboard holes and that the CPU bracket plate is correctly positioned within the backplate cutout.
STEP 3 - SPACER INSTALLATION
Install the four spacers for socket 1700 & 1200 / 115X onto the front of the motherboard.
2.2 Preparation - Intel LGA AMD
STEP 1
Remove the standard AMD mounting bracket and retain the original backplate on the rear of the motherboard. Note: For TR4 connector, proceed to AMD - Step 4.
STEP 2
On the front of the motherboard, install the AMD sleeves. Depending on your connection interface, ensure the sleeves are placed with the connection interface name facing upwards.
- AM5: Sleeve orientation indicated.
- AM4: Sleeve orientation indicated.
STEP 3
On the front of the motherboard, install the four AMD spacer screws.
STEP 4 - CHANGING THE RETENTION BRACKET
- Press the Intel retention bracket and push it towards the pump.
- Rotate the bracket counter-clockwise to release it.
- Remove the Intel retention bracket.
- Repeat the process in reverse order to install the AMD retention bracket onto the pump. For TR4 socket, install the AMD TR4 retention bracket provided in the Threadripper processor box.
Installation
3.1 Pump Installation - Pump Orientation
The display orientation can be adjusted in 90° increments via the CAM software. You can orient the pump tubes according to your motherboard component layout.
- DEFAULT: Shows the default orientation.
- LOGICAL ORIENTATION ADJUSTMENTS: Indicates the ability to adjust orientation.
Place the pump with the retention bracket onto the CPU. Ensure the four spacers pass through the bracket holes and secure the installation with the thumb screws.
- INTEL: Illustration showing pump installation on Intel socket.
- AMD AM5/AM4: Illustration showing pump installation on AMD AM5/AM4 sockets. The diagram indicates a specific tightening order (1-2-3-4) and shows the correct placement for socket 1700 and socket 1200 / 115X.
3.2 Pump Installation - INTEL/AMD AM5/AM4
This section is covered within 3.1.
3.3 Pump Installation - AMD TR4
Place the pump with the retention bracket onto the CPU. The screw holes for the TR4 socket are of different lengths. Ensure all four screws are aligned and tighten them in the indicated order (1 to 4).
- The diagram shows the TR4 socket with screw hole dimensions (46mm and 65.2mm) and the tightening sequence.
3.4 Radiator and Fan Installation
Depending on your installation type, use the appropriate hardware:
- DIRECT INSTALLATION
- INDIRECT INSTALLATION
NOTE: Always use washers to prevent damage.
DIRECT INSTALLATION
For an installation where the radiator is directly attached to the chassis, first install the fans using the 30 mm screws and washers. Then, use the 5 mm chassis screws and washers to install the radiator.
INDIRECT INSTALLATION
For an installation where the fans are placed between the radiator and the chassis, use the 30 mm fan screws and washers.
3.5 Fan Setup
Connect the fan cable to the first 4-pin connector of the multi-pin cable. Use the other available connectors as needed.
- The diagram shows the multi-pin cable (M) with multiple connectors for fans (Q).
3.6 Pump Tachometer Connection
Connect the 3-pin connector of the multi-pin cable to the CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP 4-pin connector on the motherboard.
NOTE: You may need to disable the fan failure alarm in the motherboard BIOS if the CPU_FAN connector is unused.
