Installation
Always use washers (L) to prevent damage.
Step 1: Preparing the Retention Bracket
For Intel sockets, select the appropriate backplate (D for 1200/115X, E for 1700) and the corresponding standoff screws (F for 1200/115X, G for 1700). For AMD sockets, use the AMD retention bracket (C) and hook screws (I).
Step 2: Installing the Standoffs
For Intel installations, screw the selected standoff screws (F or G) into the designated holes on the motherboard. For AMD installations, attach the AMD retention bracket (C) to the motherboard using the hook screws (I).
Step 3: Installing the Water Block
Carefully place the Kraken 120 water block onto the CPU. Align the mounting holes and secure it using the retention bracket (B for Intel, C for AMD) and thumbnuts (H). Tighten the thumbnuts evenly to ensure a firm and secure fit.
Mounting the Radiator and Fan
Direct Mounting
For installations where the radiator fits directly onto the PC case, first attach the Aer P 120 Fan (M) to the radiator using the 30mm fan screws (J). Then, mount the radiator assembly to the PC case using the 5mm radiator screws (K) and metal washers (L).
Indirect Mounting
For installations where the fan fits between the radiator and the PC chassis, first mount the Aer P 120 Fan (M) to the PC case using the 30mm fan screws (J) and metal washers (L). Then, attach the radiator to the fan using the 5mm radiator screws (K) and metal washers (L).
Powering the Pump and Fan
Pump Power
Connect the 3-pin pump power cable from the Kraken 120 water block to a suitable header on your motherboard, such as CPU_OPT, PUMP, or AIO_PUMP. It is recommended to set the pump speed to full in the motherboard's BIOS for optimal performance.
Fan Power
Connect the 4-pin fan power cable from the Aer P 120 Fan (M) to the motherboard's CPU_FAN header.
Powering the LEDs
ARGB 5V Connection
Use the included 200mm 5V ARGB (Female) to NZXT RGB (Male) Adapter (N). Connect the NZXT RGB (Male) end of adapter N to the NZXT RGB connector on the Kraken 120 water block. Then, connect the 5V ARGB (Female) end of adapter N to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard.
NZXT RGB Connection
Use the included 200mm NZXT RGB (Female) to 5V ARGB (Male) Adapter (O). Connect the NZXT RGB (Female) end of adapter O to the Kraken 120's NZXT RGB connector. Connect the 5V ARGB (Male) end of adapter O to additional NZXT RGB lighting accessories.
Important Note: The Kraken 120 must be the first lighting accessory in the chain. Use the NZXT RGB Connection Cable from your lighting accessories' box to connect to the Kraken 120.
To connect additional 5V ARGB lighting accessories to your motherboard, use the 5V ARGB (Female) end of adapter O and connect it to an available 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard.
