Time Signal Reception Ranges

Diagrams show reception ranges for Japan (JJY), China (BPC), U.S. (WWVB), and U.K./Germany (MSF/DCF77) time calibration signals.

Note: Reception may be affected by geographic contours, weather, season, time of day, or wireless noise, even within the normal reception range.

Auto Time Calibration Signal Receive

An automatic time calibration signal receive operation occurs between midnight and 5:00 a.m. Once successful, no more auto receives occur that day. Place the watch near a window. [RCVD] flashes during reception. Successful reception adjusts time and day settings automatically, and the [RCVD] indicator appears.

  4. Press (D) to toggle between [On] (Auto Receive enabled) and [OFF] (Auto Receive disabled).
  5. Press (A) to complete the setting.

Note: The setting operation exits automatically after two or three minutes of non-operation.

  1. Place the watch near a window or other location appropriate for signal reception.
  2. Enter the Timekeeping Mode.
  3. Hold down (D) for at least two seconds until [RCVD] flashes. This indicates the receive operation has started.

Receive Level Indicator

While a receive operation is in progress, the level indicator shows the signal level ([L1], [L2], [L3]) to help find a location with stable reception.

Checking the Last Time Adjustment Result

  1. Enter the Timekeeping Mode.
  2. Press (D). This displays the date and time of the last successful receive operation.

Note: [RCVD] will not be displayed if the time and/or date were adjusted manually after a successful receive operation.
