Important Safety Information
WARNING! SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER.
ATTENTION! COUPER LE COURANT AU FUSIBLE OU UN DISJONCTEUR.
ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE (Fig.1)
Figure 1 Description: This diagram illustrates the assembly process. It shows a junction box (not included) mounted to a surface. A mounting plate, marked with "GND" on one side, is attached to the junction box using box screws. Fixture wires, including the ground wire, are routed through the center of the mounting plate. The lamp body is then attached to the mounting plate using mounting screws. Key components labeled are: Fixture Ground Wire, Supply Ground Wire, Junction Box (Not included), Supply wire, Fixture wire, Mounting plate, Box screw, Mounting screw, and Lamp body.
- Shut off the power at the circuit breaker box. Remove the old fixture and all hardware from the Junction Box. Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area. Take care not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.
- Disconnect power at the main electrical panel before installation.
- Attach the mounting plate to the junction box using two junction box screws as shown. The side of the mounting plate marked "GND" must face out. The junction box is not included.
- Guide fixture wires through the hole in the center of the mounting plate.
- Follow wiring instructions carefully (see Fig.2).
- Attach the back plate of the lamp body onto the mounting plate, aligning the back plate holes with the screw holes of the mounting plate on the side, then lock it securely with mounting screws.
- Install the light bulbs (No Included) in accordance with the fixture's specifications. NOTE: DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING!
CONNECTING THE WIRES (Fig.2)
Figure 2 Description: This diagram details the electrical wire connections. It shows three main connection types typically secured with wire nuts:
- Fixture Black Wire (or Smooth wire) connects to the House Black (Hot) Wire.
- Fixture White Wire (or Ribbed wire) connects to the House White (Neutral) Wire.
- Fixture Ground Wire (Bare Copper) connects to the House Ground Wire (Green or Bare Copper). If the outlet box does not have a ground wire, attach the fixture's bare copper ground wire to the green ground screw on the mounting plate.
- Connect the electrical wires as follows: Connect the Black wire from the fixture to the black house (hot) Wire. Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) house wire. Make sure all wire nuts are secured. You may wrap the connections with electrical tape. If your outlet box has a ground wires (green or bare copper), connect the fixture's ground wire to it. Otherwise, attach the bare copper fixture wire to the green ground screw on the mounting plate.
- Tuck the wire connections neatly into the wall junction box.
Installation Complete
Your installation is now complete. Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.
