Safety First: Preventing Tip-Over Accidents
WARNING!
Serious or fatal crushing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To reduce the risk of furniture tip-over:
ALWAYS secure this furniture to the wall using the provided tip-over restraints.
To further reduce the risk of serious injury and death from tip-overs:
- Place the heaviest items in the lower drawer.
- Do not place TVs or other heavy objects on top of this product.
- Never allow children to climb or hang on drawers, doors, or shelves.
- Read and follow each step of the instructions carefully.
Included Parts
Ensure you have all the following parts before assembly:
- Main structural components (panels, shelves)
- Drawer slides (10060250)
- Handles (153548)
- Hinges (various types)
- Assorted screws, dowels, and cam locks for assembly.
- Tip-over Restraint Kit:
- Wardrobe brackets (150688, 150689)
- Wall mounting hardware (plates 147968, 126916; screws 10060250, 158469, 121714; plugs 327495)
Assembly Steps
- Prepare Side Panels: Attach drawer slides (10060250) to the side panels using screws (146114). Insert dowels (118331) into side panels.
- Assemble Base and Frame: Attach mounting plates (147968, 126916) to the bottom panel using screws (101345). Connect side panels, top panel, and bottom panel using screws (100214, 100001, 109041, 103717) and cam locks (100001, 100214, 101345, 119976, 10062514, 122971). Insert dowels (101345) where required. Attach brackets (103717, 109041) to the frame.
- Install Back Panel: Slide the back panels into the grooves on the frame and secure them with screws.
- Assemble Drawers: Construct the drawer boxes by joining the drawer sides, back, and base. Use dowels (101345), screws (100001, 100214), and cam locks (119030, 151705, 151706). Attach drawer handles (153548). Attach drawer slides to the drawer boxes.
- Mount Hinges and Doors: Attach hinges (150688, 150689, 10062514, 119976) to the main wardrobe frame and the doors. Connect the doors to the frame using the mounted hinges and adjust them for proper alignment.
- Install Shelves: Insert shelf supports (104663) into the pre-drilled holes inside the wardrobe and place the shelves onto the supports.
- Secure to Wall: This is a critical safety step. Attach the tip-over restraint brackets (150688, 150689) to the top of the wardrobe using screws (10060250). Identify a secure point on the wall (preferably a wall stud). Attach the corresponding wall bracket (147968, 126916, 158469) to the wall using appropriate screws and plugs (e.g., 158469, 121714, 327495). Connect the wardrobe to the wall using the provided strap and screws. Ensure the wardrobe is stable and level. Refer to the "Wall Mounting Guide" for specific wall types.
- Final Check: Review all connections and ensure the wardrobe is securely fastened to the wall.
Wall Mounting Guide
The supplied screws and plugs are designed for various wall types:
- Solid Walls (A): Use the Ø 8 mm (5/16") drill bit to create a hole. Insert the plug (126916) and then screw in the screw (147968).
- Hollow Walls (B): Use the Ø 8 mm (5/16") drill bit to create a hole. Insert the plug (126916) and then screw in the screw (147968).
- Solid Wood (C): Use the Ø 3 mm (1/8") drill bit to create a pilot hole. Screw in the screw (147968) directly without a plug.
