WARNING! SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER. / ATTENTION! COUPER LE COURANT AU FUSIBLE OU UN DISJONCTEUR.
Assembling the Fixture (Refer to Fig.2)
Diagram Description (Fig.2): This diagram illustrates the main components of the lighting fixture, showing a central pipe (A) connecting to the fixture body (B), with glass shades (C) attached to lamp holders and secured by check rings (D).
- Return the arms to their suitable position.
- Attach the pipe (A) to the top pipe thread of the fixture body (B) by turning it clockwise until tight.
- Raise the glass shade (C) to the lamp holder, and lock it securely with the check ring (D) until tight.
- Install the light bulbs (not included) in accordance with the fixture's specifications.
NOTE: DO NOT EXCEED THE SPECIFIED WATTAGE!
Alternative Fixture Loop Assembly (Refer to Fig. 2.1)
Diagram Description (Fig.2.1): This diagram depicts an alternative assembly method for the fixture's hanging loop, involving the canopy, lamp body loop, lock washer, hex nut, and ball nuts.
- Take out the bottom loop of the canopy and the loop of the lamp body.
- Attach the canopy to the lamp body, and lock it with the lock washer and hex nut until tight.
- Attach the lamp body to the ceiling, and lock it securely with the ball nuts.
Hanging the Fixture (Refer to FIG.1)
Diagram Description (FIG.1): This diagram illustrates the mounting process. It shows a junction box (not included), a mounting plate with pre-drilled holes, mounting screws, a box screw, a hex nut, a lock washer, a canopy, a ball nut, and a chain. It demonstrates how the chain attaches to the canopy and fixture body, and how the mounting plate is secured to the junction box.
- Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture from the ceiling, including the old single bar. Carefully unpack the new fixture and lay all parts on a clear surface.
- Thread the two mounting screws into the pre-drilled holes in the Mounting plate, spaced the same distance apart as the holes in the canopy. Attach the Mounting plate to the Junction Box with the two Junction Box Screws as shown. The side of the Mounting plate marked "GND" must face outwards. The junction box is not included.
- By measuring, determine the correct number of links needed for proper hanging height. Using proper chain pliers, disconnect and discard remaining chain. Attach the end pipe thread of the chain into the canopy center hole, and lock it securely with the lock washer and hex nut.
- Lace the fixture wires through the chain.
- Open the end link of the chain and hang the loop at the ceiling and fixture body. Close the link.
- Feed the fixture wires through the loop of the canopy and pull until taut.
- Slide the canopy up flush to the ceiling, and lock it securely with ball nuts.
Connecting the Wires (Refer to FIG.3)
Diagram Description (FIG.3): This diagram details the electrical wire connections. It shows fixture wires (Black/Smooth, White/Ribbed, Bare Copper) being connected to house wires (Black/Hot, White/Neutral, Green or Bare Copper/Ground) using wire connectors. It also specifies connecting the bare copper fixture wire to the ground screw on the mounting plate if no ground wire is present in the junction box.
- Take the black wire from the ceiling junction box and the smooth wire leg from the fixture and twist bare ends together. Twist a wire connector onto the end of the wire until snug.
- Repeat the same process with the white junction box wire and the ribbed wire leg of the fixture wire. NOTE: Twist wires together in the same direction you twist the wire connector onto wires.
- If your junction box has a grounding wire (green or bare copper), attach this wire and the bare copper wire from the fixture together as step 1. If the junction box has no ground wire, attach the bare copper fixture wire to the green ground screw on the mounting plate.
- Tuck these wire connections neatly into the ceiling outlet box and then raise the canopy all the way to the ceiling, lock it securely with ball nuts.
